About A’Maria

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play as a big but I can get to the basket. Im dominate with using my left and right hand and I can put back my own rebounds.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm very fun but to my self alot. My teammates all get to see my goofy side and I am humble.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes I won awards at Grace James Middle School for being an Outstanding Writer and A KHSA award for having a gpa over 3.5.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed a sense of team work. Working together is always better than people doing their own thing. I've gained leader ship because theres so many little girls in our city that looked up to our basketball team at Grace James and wanted to play basketball because of us. Working camps with my now high school Dupont Manual shows me how important it is to teach and lead our youth.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I've faced a few challenges during my time of playing basketball. Starting off in 6th grade I had never played before. Not even for fun at home, so I had to learn everything starting from scratch. As I got into the season I noticed that I was off balance alot and ended up having to have surgery done on my right ear to save my hearing. Since that surgery I have grown so much as a player.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking to attend a college that will help me showcase my talent and skills on the court but one I will also do great in academically. I would love to attend a school that Is exciting and be around coaches who are like the ones I have now very family oriented.
