Janiyah Span Janiyah Span 5'8" | CG/SF Williston | 2029 FL brought toughness, energy, and consistent production on both ends of the floor during the state semifinals and finals. She was a true workhorse—rebounding at a high level, defending multiple positions, and contributing offensively both inside and from the perimeter. Her impact showed up all over the court. She produced blocks and steals to create second-chance opportunities. Span also showed her versatility by stepping out and knocking down shots from beyond the arc, solidifying herself as a difference maker on both ends of the court.

Janiyah Span Janiyah Span 5'8" | CG/SF Williston | 2029 FL provided valuable complementary scoring with 7 points, using her ability to attack off the bounce to put pressure on Jay’s defense. Span also connected om a three pointer from behind the arc. Her slashing ability also added balance to Williston’s perimeter-heavy attack and helped keep the defense honest. Span brought the energy as usual and had less rebounds with her team shooting the way they did. The future is bright for this Freshman and she will likely be back in a few more final fours before its all said and done.

Span plays with physicality, quickness, and has a nonstop motor – impressive for a Freshman. She absorbs physical play, extends possessions – 6 offensive rebounds in the semifinals and 9 overall.

Janiyah Span Janiyah Span 5'8" | CG/SF Williston | 2029 FL was everywhere. She was tough on the glass, active on defense, and versatile on the court. Span showed the ability to score from the perimeter with a long range three pointer.
She’s athletic, rebounds outside her area, and competes possession after possession. The block shot and physical interior presence stood out. Span brings toughness that doesn’t always show in the stat sheet — but it changes games and inspires her teammates. One stat that really stood out was Span’s 9 boards (six were offensive rebounds). Perhaps the most intriguing thing about Span’s performance was her age. Last season she was in middle school and year later she is playing on a college campus in the State tournament and dominating the boards.

Janiyah Span Janiyah Span 5'8" | CG/SF Williston | 2029 FL uses her athleticism to play shifty and take advantage of her quick first step to blow by defenders and get to the rim. Span has really hit her stride in the playoffs, with games of 20, 19, and 24 points. She has helped her team earn a 19–2 record and advance to the Sweet 16 of the Rural State Championship playoffs. It will be exciting to see how far she can be part of their journey to the state championship game.
