About Jaryah
Expert Analysis
Niles Bateman | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Jaryah is a physical center who makes her presence known in the paint. She does really well with boxing opponents out to secure rebounds, she can finish well around the rim and through contact and displays great hustle with how she runs the court in transition. Jaryah has all the tools to be a valuable leader for Emerald Ridge in a few months.

Jaryah finishes well down in the paint and can finish through contact down low. She is strong when boxing out oppoising players and going for rebounds off the glass. She runs the court well and sets very solid screens for her teammates, always rolling hard down the paint. I expect McGriff to have an even bigger season next year with her game likely being more well rounded.

She was a tough match-up for anyone this season with her size and strength in the post. She has more than just size, she is a talented scorer on the block and capable of averaging a double double and then some. She rebounds, knows how to use the size advantage, and has good footwork. Gone to graduation are Marecia Barnett, Maya Barnett, Alina Sapilak, and do everything point guard Monique Carter. Big things to come next season along with 2024,

Ranked #3 in the Class of 2026. She is a big presence in the paint for a talented Emerald Ridge team. Her ability to score on the block and her rebounding are one of the reasons I have Emerald Ridge winning their 1st round game vs defending champion Woodinville.

This is a player that should be known around the state. She is a combination of skill and size that are rare. She is tough on the block and when she gets it she knows what to do with it. She moves well and there aren’t many players stronger than she is. She has good hands and rarely looses the ball once she gets it. She finishes strong in the paint. She rebounds and makes good outlet passes. Not many teams have an answer for her in the low post which has shown up lately in the box score with double doubles.

Another impact freshman, she is a force on the block and uses her size and strength well to finish. She has good footwork which allows her to play bigger than she is. With the combination of skill and size, she is one to watch from the class of 2026 with a lot of upside. She rebounds well and plays physically. She has had at least a couple of double-doubles already this season for a good Emerald Ridge team.
