Jocelyn had another good showing at Select Events showing off her elite athleticism at six feet two inches tall. She was hard to miss crashing the offensive boards in transition following and grabbing missed shots for easy put backs. She didn’t just hurt opposing teams trailing plays on the fast break by scoring in the paint, Jocelyn also showed great form and follow thru as she knocked down multiple shots from behind the three point line and in the midrange for her team. I was very impressed with Gesner during Session One at Spooky Nook in the Spring, but she looked even lighter on her feet and showed very good quickness and excellent footwork this trip. She really got off the floor when she had time and space to leap and get full extension blocking and altering shots on the defensive and snatching missed shots off the glass. Since my first time watching her Jocelyn made her college decision committing to Drexel in June over schools like Colgate, Cornell, VCU, and others. I expect her to have a very solid and productive career playing on the next level.

Gesner has been a recurring name, but it just feels like she couldn’t be left out of a list like this. She was one of the first name that came to mind when considering the players likely to dominate. The momentum and all the recent success she’s been having should carry over into the showcase. She’ll be a must-watch.

Gesner has been commonly appeared in conversations all spring and summer looks to be no different. Her ascension can’t just be glossed over. Jocelyn is looking like one of the premier bigs in NEPSAC. She’ll be one that’s a must-watch at the upcoming showcase. Gesner has come along with way with her game and she has a chance to takeover this next period of hoops.

Gesner has been a rising name in the region and there’s a lot of anticipation leading up to the NEPSAC showcase. Her schedule in preparation is what’s impressive though. There’re not many players with an itinerary. Right now, Jocelyn has 7 am strength/agility, 8 am skills/shooting and 10 am core work. No wonder she’s been thriving, Gesner’s work ethic is next level.

Gesner has been dominating in ways that’re certainly going to position her up the board in the upcoming ranks. Jocelyn’s strong fundamentals, power and mobility are the backbone of her success, but it’s her cerebral play that’s been making her stand out when watching. She should get a bit more credit for how she’s able to create in tough spots plus the commanding 2-way influence in the paint. Jocelyn has been a treat to watch lately.

Gesner used every inch of her 6’3 frame to affect the game on both ends for WV Thunder while showing excellent footwork and the ability to move quickly at that size. Gesner was an active rebounder and pursued missed shots rather than waiting on the ball to come to here and relying on her size. She showed excellent ball skills and soft hands on offense around the basket and also stepped out to the perimeter and knocked down a big three between the wing and top of the key in what was a very tightly contested game. There is a reason she holds multiple Division One offers, including from schools like Colgate and Cornell. She is a very good player already, but is far from the finished product.

Gesner possesses intangibles that many other forwards don’t have and she carries a large impact on winning. The consistency is there with Jocelyn too. This is someone who’s going to pick up a ton of interest soon.

Jocelyn is playing for the WV Thunder S40 team this AAU season and competed in the IE Showcase last weekend, with the Spooky Nook tournament up next. At 6’3”, she’s a tough matchup, able to shoot over defenders from three or finish over the top at the rim. Her length also stands out defensively, where she uses her reach to swat away shots and protect the paint.

Gesner is an all-purpose forward that executes at a high level. No matter if it was setting a screen, diving to the basket, sealing or crashing the glass, Jocelyn took no plays off. She’s just so useful, no matter the role.

Jocelyn has an experienced game with a solid foundation that finds her success. She’s fundamentally sound plus brings a level of physicality that can catch the opposition by surprise if unprepared. Gesner has shown she can reliably hit the free-throw extended shot, work unusual angles and overwhelm those guarding her on the glass as well. Not only a factor on offense, but the defense she also provides is sound. Jocelyn dissuades drivers from getting in the lane. The ’27 forward is resolute option for NMH.
