Popyk is ready to take her talents to Gannon University next year. After watching Popyk play on Friday, I think they got a steal. She’s a different player this season. She has a confidence and a toughness that has carried her to a different level. Popyk manipulated matchups in this game by attacking the lane with physicality, using a top notch mid range game and also working with her back to the basket against smaller defenders. She had a length mismatch that she used on the glass and as a way to flip a floater over the top of the defense. Screenshot this: You’re Popyk will be a very influential player over the course of her college basketball career.

Committed to Gannon
Popyk’s path to this point is movie type material. She suffered a couple very serious knee injuries, but has fought her way back to playing top notch basketball and making it to the next level. Gannon got a steal with Popyk.

is going to be a dominant force for the Wildcats this season. She is committed to Gannon University and has the versatility to score anywhere on the court. Her length and ability to handle the ball effectively makes matching up with her one on one nearly impossible. Jordan can accurately shoot the ball beyond the arc and utilize various dribbles to win one on one battles to the rim. The Wildcats will be a darkhorse team in the West this season and Jordan will be instrumental to their success.

Popyk is a prospect that I’ve been very high on for quite a while now. She recently committed to Gannon University and I think they got a steal. A large part of that is Popyk’s defense. She has a really nice combination of length and defensive IQ. Popyk’s ability to get good defensive position can allow her to suffocate opponents if the pick up their dribble or get caught in a corner.

is a name everyone is well aware of and she once again looked the part in a high pressure situation. Jordan swished a couple shots from top of the key with her trademark high releasing shooter’s touch. She also dished some strong entry passes and high-fived teammates on the court. One of her more impressive moves on the day was a catch from the wing, drive middle, then spin dribble seal and finish with her left hand. Jordan is a wing with the handles, height, and attitude to make an impression whenever she plays.

Popyk has a ton of upside as a prospect and a terrific game currently to go with it. She’s long and athletic and finds high percentage looks at the rim.

has the height, athleticism, and ball handling control to be a next level wing or stretch forward. She makes outside shots and has an exceptional face up game. Jordan is absolutely someone we need to have at the Top 250 Expo.

I was not surprised at all when I heard that Jordan was invited to attend the Northwood open gym with the college players at the end of the night. She is a long guard who uses her size to get downhill. She made some great long court passes and rebounds at a high level.

Popyk has faced adversity with an injury and has come out better on the other side. She’s tougher and focused on her skill development. In my opinion, every team needs a Popyk. If I was a next level ccoach, I’d be begging her to consider my school, she’s that good for a team.

Popyk is that physical mismatch that Novi can attack against Dexter in the semifinals. Her combination of positional height, length and ball skills can be a big issue for many teams to matchup with. I’ve always been very high on Popyk’s game as well as her potential and believe she’s capable of a big time game in this spot.
