She took plays that seemed broken and turned them into points coming up with the loose possession and getting it through the hoop. She found her open teammate up the court hitting her for the fast break points.

The four opponents this past weekend for Alabama Generals 17U had to find a way to contain this rising name from the northwest regions of the state. The success rate of containing Ricks was very low. Not only does Ricks make plays as a scorer and attacker of the basket, but she does so as a ball distributor as well. Defensively, she is a threat to collect many steals and is very confident in her abilities. Last season, she brought her many basketball talents from 3A Colbert County to 7A Florence. It was roughly a year ago when Ricks landed her first collegiate offer from Calhoun Community College.

Alabama Generals 17U’s game plan against Bars Elite 17U included an aggressive Ricks and it was too much for its in-state foes to handle. Ricks is an all-around playmaker but she also understands when the correct times are to make plays and when the correct occasions are to put her teammates in similar spots. Ricks first played at the varsity level when she was in middle school and is coming off one of the signature freshman seasons for anyone across the talent-rich state that is Alabama. The Falcons of 7A Florence are well-represented on this year’s Alabama Generals 17U roster as she is one of three from Florence on the team.

Lefty Attacking Guard. She first caught my attention by her quick hands. Then in the second half of her 1st game, she became relentless and unstoppable at getting to the basket for buckets and to the free throw line.
