Top Performers Playing Up

Prep Girls Hoops is hosting their Southeast Region Finals this weekend in Columbus, Georgia where teams from all over the southeast are competing as May comes to an end.  There have been plenty of top performers already this Saturday as I've been covering the 17U division.  Check out these top performers playing up in this division.    [player_tooltip player_id='1165465' first='Joyden' last='Ricks'] showed her toughness attacking the basket making a tough baseline shot and turning that into an old fashioned three point play. She took plays that seemed broken and turned them into points coming up with the loose possession and getting it through the hoop. She found her open teammate up the court hitting her for the fast break points.     Kaidyn Atkinson had a nice shot from deep doing the work off the ball to get the opening. She had some tough moves off the offensive glass using these as second chance opportunities. Her shot fakes were effective getting around her defender and to the basket not backing down from any help side contact. She came up with a big steal late in the game preventing her opponents from getting a fast break and getting the possession back.     [player_tooltip player_id='1222510' first='Ava' last='Jenkins'] had some nice moves getting the entry pass with her back to the basket, using power dribbles, and turning to bank it off the glass. She was tough getting rebounds on both ends of the court. She even showed off her handles attacking the basket from the top of the key. She was tough throughout the game running the floor well and being ready for whatever play may happen. She can pull up elevating over her opponents, and she uses her strength to battle through contact. She did well repositioning after the pass to get the ball back inside.     [player_tooltip player_id='1222393' first='Khloie' last='Stanley'] was very disruptive on defense meeting her opponents at half court and staying with them laterally making it difficult to get by her or get a pass off. She hustles after rebounds crashing the boards on both ends, and she seems to come out of nowhere getting the possession doing whatever it takes to get the ball. She handles the ball well under pressure as she brings it up the court. She had some nice range with her shot, too.     Kendall Johnson added to the three point shooting giving her team some much needed energy. She drew fouls when attacking the basket and made it count from the free throw line. She had some nice spin moves attacking the basket and finishing at the rim. She found her teammates easily rolling to the basket off or their screens.     [player_tooltip player_id='1808172' first='Jada' last='Jones'] was running coast to coast handling the ball herself to score in transition. She knew when to take the ball all the way to the hoop or pull up for her midrange jumper. She had a nice shot fake off the pass and attacked the basket to get some tough points. She did well exploding up the court getting some points after grabbing the steal and scoring in transition. She runs after long rebounds making sure her team has a second chance shot. She was explosive getting to the basket off the pass at the top of the key.
