Kamryn Hough of GTRA High School and Play4Him Academy is a noteworthy PG, that can control a talented team when the rock is in her possession. This is a PG that I would consider pass-first but she is a lethal scoring threat when she is being taken lightly. If the defense comes out and doesn’t make her a priority, it’s going to be a LONG game and that speaks to the play-making ability she brings with her to the floor. We have seen Hough control pace of play with some talented rosters over the last few season and she has done a great job of putting up numbers during her time on the Varsity floor. As long as she keeps doing her thing, I’m sure there will be a coach or two interested in her services before her high school career comes to a close.

Kam Hough produces as her team’s starting PG. She did last Winter as a Sophomore and she is lined up to do it again as a Junior. Hough might not be the tallest on the court but she makes up for that with high energy and top notch communication. She is the type that understands situational awareness within this game at a HIGH level for her age. She knows when to do what and who to pass too in which situation, speaking to how elite her mental capabilities really are. The biggest issue we have when talking about younger prospects is the mental side of the game. You can have all the skill in the world but if you don’t know what to do with it, it’s never going to workout for you in the long run. Maybe against poor and smaller competition but against real hoopers? No, it’ll never work so it’s crucial that we see this out of Hough at this point in her career. She has the foundation to take her game to the next level in the future if she sticks with it. There is no doubt about that.

was one of my favorite athletes on the floor for GTRA. She does a little bit of everything including playmaking, handling the rock against the press, getting in the mix on offensive rebounds, and sharing the ball with open teammates. My favorite aspect of Hough’s game, though, is her high-level jumper. She hit a number of big shots tonight with superb footwork and a hand in her face — she came off of tough cutting angles and didn’t let it alter her form off the catch. Any time Newell-Fonda scored in the first half, it seemed like Kamryn flashed right back with a deep three counter punch. A pesky, agile on-ball defender as well as a willing distributer to flashing cutters, there is a lot to like about this sophomore’s game and she showed that tonight.

compete at the PG/SG position. Hough is a smaller PG at 5’5 but she makes up for that with her lighting fast movement, her elite vision down the floor, her natural passing ability, and her ruthless defense when she is tasked with picking up the pressure in the full-court after a make. We have seen Hough on the AAU floor with her Play4Him program but it’s nice to see that she is showing that her skills translate to the Varsity level as well. She is a tough one to contain with one individual because of how effortlessly she moves and that helps her take over contests in reality. She might not be the one doing all the scoring but when she has the ball in her possession, she changes the direction of the game and that’s something you love to see.

of GT-RA High School is an impressive playmaker on the hardwood. Hough, a 5’5 PG, understands what she does best and she understands what her teammates do best around her. She would be considered a promising creator and facilitator when attacking the defense off the dribble, she can play off the ball some and still produce, or she can use her consistent movement to get open off a cut when her defender is running out of energy. All in all, Hough is coming off of a successful year with her Play4Him AAU program. If she can build off of that, she should put together another impressive season this upcoming Winter.
