Katie Bechtel could have a big senior season.

Bechtel, in her junior season, displayed a dynamic offensive game with her 3-point jumper, highlighting her skillset. She is a lefty jumpshooter with a lightning-quick jumper. That is one of her main strengths regarding her perimeter shot because she can shoot it even with defenders closing in on her quickly. Her ability to set her feet on a dime before getting the ball is a big part of her shot being so speedy.

Bechtel is also more than comfortable creating off the dribble. She often uses her 3-point shot to get into the paint, either with a quick hesitation or a pump fake. From there, she can drive all the way to the bucket for a layup or pull up for a mid-range jumper.

Solid two way player who is just a grinder. Has a high basketball IQ, she knows when to exploit an opponent’s weakness. This kid is a 3 level scoring threat, but commanding an offense is what she does best. She made the right play at the right time and didn’t force the issue. I liked how she got after it on the defensive end as well. She not only slowed down the girl she was guarding, but contributed in other statistical categories as well. Solid kid who is on an upwards trajectory.
