In the last few days, we have looked at some under-the-radar players for small-school programs to see over the next few months of the grassroots season. Today, we will look at some players who are talented enough for scholarship programs and could help a team compete early at the next level. Let's talk about some intriguing talents from around our state.

The part of Van Wie's game that will help her excel at the next level the most is the edge she brings to the floor. She has improved her offensive skill set and hasn't been afraid to make mistakes, which I love, and it will be a bonus at the next level. The way she competes defensively and her versatility on that end of the floor will make her a player who's hard to keep off the floor. Her energy is infectious, and she will find ways to help any team win games.

Few players made the strides that Pudelko did over the last year, and she has clearly worked on her game as much as anyone. She is stronger than she was at this time last year, and played with more confidence than in the past. I loved how hard she played away from the ball and how well she crashed the glass on both ends of the floor. I was also pleasantly surprised by how well she shot the ball in her sophomore season. She's a versatile prospect.

The young post player from the Eau Claire area is all of 6-5 or 6-6 and will catch college coaches' attention for that alone. However, Borcherding has come a long way over the last year and is playing more physically as the days go by. She will be a triple-double threat with blocks as long as she stays on the floor for Regis. Borcherding is a kid who plays hard, moves well for her size, and has plenty of room to broaden her offensive skillset.

Notre Dame has had a history of developing young talent, and Cumicek will be the latest in that long line of talented players. Cumicek played an off-ball role most of her first season and had plenty of success in that role. However, in her [program_tooltip program_id='712778' first='Purple' last='Aces'] grassroots season, she has looked comfortable with the ball in her hands and has played through pressure better than she did early in her high school season. Cumicek will continue improving over the next three years and is an excellent place to get the best out of her game.
