Sophomore Player of the Year and Michigan’s #1 2028 prospect looked determined to bring home a State Championship trophy from the Breslin Center. Kenna started with a near quadruple-double performance against Brandywine with 16 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, and seven steals. She flexed her muscles again in the Championship Game, scoring 19 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out 6 assists. Kenna showed off her athleticism on a speedy baseline drive, floating in mid-air, then finishing with the scoop lay-in. She buried a smooth pull-up elbow over an outstretched defender, swished a corner three, and jumped into passing lanes to generate steals. Kenna created space with an inside-out dribble up top to drain a straightaway triple to start the fourth quarter, and Lumen Christi never looked back. She glided to the rim for a layup after shaking her defender using a double-crossover dribble and dished out an assist to a backdoor cutter. Kenna was the most dominant player on the court, and she is the D3 All-Breslin Team MVP.

She picked off passes, then turned on the afterburners to create transition points for herself and others. Kenna made a great dump-off pass for an assist after drawing two defenders. Stars have to shine in the biggest games. Kenna did exactly that and guided Lumen Christi to a win in the District Finals. Her explosive speed and athleticism were on full display throughout the game. Kenna accelerated in transition to score a coast-to-coast and-one layup at the end of the first half; she took multiple steals the length of the floor for transition buckets. One of Kenna’s best was a crossover, quick transfer to her left to convert a contested veer layup in top gear. Kenna buried pull-up jumpers and drilled a deep wing three. She showed her determination in the paint by securing back-to-back offensive rebounds, then hung in mid-air to finish a tough layup over a reaching defender. Kenna levitated after snatching an offensive rebound to score a reverse layup and dished out assists after penetrating the defense. Kenna demonstrated great sportsmanship by helping her opponent up off the floor despite the tense environment. She swatted away a drive attempt with emphasis and closed out quickly to block a perimeter jumper. Kenna led the Titans with a game-high 27 points in the victory.

Kenna changes directions, accelerates, and covers ground off the dribble in ways that are outside of the norm. I noted that Kenna covers ground at a ridiculous pace. Her speedy crossover combos and quick feet made it look like she was dancing with the ball. Kenna buried a mid-range step-back pull-up jumper after serious of crossovers and drained a rainbow three pointer off a step-back move. Her defining play as an elite athlete was on a full-speed drive where she side-stepped a defender with a long-jump, elevated off one foot, and hung in mid-air for the finish. Kenna poured in 21 points with six steals, five assists, and four rebounds in the emphatic Lumen Christi win.

Kenna burst onto the scene last season, earning First Team All-State honors as a freshman and establishing herself as one of the premier young talents in Michigan. She powered Lumen Christi to a 19-7 record and a state quarterfinal appearance, averaging an impressive 23.4 points, 10.5 rebounds, and six assists per game. Her combination of skill, court vision, and competitiveness makes her a matchup nightmare for opponents, and her ability to impact the game in every area has already drawn multiple Division I offers. Widely regarded as the top player in her class, Kenna enters her sophomore season with high expectations and will be a strong contender for Division 3 Player of the Year honors.

Kenna defended her number one ranking at the Select Super Showcase. She started the tournament strong for Legends U 2027, starting in the first game. Kenna set the tone with a layup off the opening tip, then swiped the ball away on defense to score a floater off two feet. Kenna accelerated using a between-the-legs crossover combination, showed off her high vertical, cradled the ball with her left against a contesting defender, and finished with a tough scoop layup. Her drives were explosive off of DHOs, leading to fouls, free throws, and layups. Kenna closed out full speed on a perimeter shooter to block the shot out of bounds and deflected the ball off an opponent’s leg on a drive to cause a turnover. She fired skip passes to open teammates in transition and was the most explosive playmaker on the court. Kenna earned Select Events P24 16U MVP as her team brought the championship hardware home. Her phone has been buzzing during the AAU season with offers from Youngstown State, Oakland, Florida Gulf Coast, Dayton, Eastern Michigan, Northern Kentucky, and Detroit Mercy. Lumen Christi is my preseason D3 favorite, and Kenna looks ready for an even better sophomore season.

Kenna has outstanding moves to the rim, shifty guard with the ability to not only lead the way from the point guard spot, but slides over and can knock down the shot. Plays with her head up.
