Spellman looked comfortable running the point guard position a role we haven’t seen her play fully. She pushed the pace, controlled the tempo and still found ways a threat on offense when her team needed her. Defensively, her ball pressure wore opposing guards down forcing them to expend so much energy bringing the ball up the floor.

Even at a new school, Kiarra never changed her approach. She continued to get to her strengths offensively while staying pesky on the defensive end. With another transition coming this summer, expect that same mindset and even more growth on the offensive side of her game.

Kiara Spellman was active on defense while dishing dimes to her open teammates. Spellman’s court vision is remarkable, and she knows where to go with the ball at all times. With 13 points, 4 assists and 2 steals being added to the stat sheet in this contest, Spellman shows her versatility in a plethora of ways.

Sitting at 941 career points, Kiarra is just 59 points away from reaching the 1,000-point mark in her junior season. She has increased her scoring total every year, and this season she’s averaging 17.1 points per game putting her on track to hit the milestone in the coming weeks. She gets it done by creating steals and scoring in transition, knocking down the three, and breaking down defenders to finish at the rim.

She brings high energy every night and is willing to do all the dirty work on the defensive end. Kiarra can also knock down shots from the perimeter making her a two-way threat. Her quick left or right dribble allows her to beat defenders and get into the rim area with confidence.

Kiarra does so many different things well that it’s hard to pick just one area where she shines the most. She’s a force defensively pushing guards into tough positions and disrupting their flow. On offense she runs the floor hard and creates easy baskets in transition but can also get hot from three.

Kiarra is the player this team needs in late game situations and as the season gets deeper. She can shoot the three as while as get past defenders off the dribble. Her ability to step up when it matters most makes her an invaluable part of this roster.

Kiarra is a knockdown shooter who can handle the ball well in traffic. She can play on or off the ball and can create for others when the defense helps. On the defensive end she plays hard and holds her own against tough matchups.

Kiarra’s defensive instincts and speed make her a nightmare for opposing ball handlers. She forces turnovers with ease, converting them into easy points for her team. On offense, she complements her defensive prowess by knocking down threes and attacking the lane with confidence. Kiarra’s two-way impact sets her apart as one of the most well-rounded players in her class.

Kiarra, just a sophomore, is second on the team (to her sister) in scoring at 19ppg but leads the team in both steals per game (5) and assists per game (4). Defensively, the Golden Eagles love to fly around and create havoc. Kiarra fits perfectly into that scheme and is a big reason why Mountain Vista has had an incredible start to this season.
