Nylah’s size and presence alone demand attention before she even touches the ball. She used her strength to dominate the paint, getting whatever she wanted around the rim and finishing efficiently through traffic. What makes her even harder to guard is her ability to step out and stretch the floor, knocking down shots when defenders sag off. That inside-out combination made her nearly unguardable and one of the most impactful players on the floor.

Duncan is always impressive and this weekend with Mountain West Premier was no different. This power forward gets it done on both ends of the court. At 6’1″ she is an anchor on the defensive end, owning the paint against other post players and giving guards a second thought before they drive inside. On offense Nylah really gets to show her power. Her footwork is excellent and she is very confident playing with her back to the basket. Playing face-up is no problem for her either. She can take players off the dribble as well as hit the high post jumpers when she is given space. Duncan definitely earns the ranking each time she steps on the court, make sure you check her out this grassroots summer.

When it comes to upside, Nylah is the girl that comes to mind. Her combination of size, length, and athleticism gives her a high ceiling. Defensively, she’s as versatile as they come capable of being at the top of a press, a shot-changer in the paint, and a lockdown defender in half-court. Her instincts and motor on that end of the floor make her a player other loves to play with. As she continues to grow and develop her offensive game this summer, don’t be surprised if she starts climbing the rankings even more. She has all the physical tools to be special.

This freshman from Rangeview showed her toughness this season. When she combined that toughness with her great fundamentals and natural height, she was a force on the varsity floor. At 6’1″, Nylah makes great use of her height by posting up smaller, less skilled players to get easy buckets for herself. She is also great on the boards at both ends getting timely rebounds for her team. Duncan sees that court well for a post player and makes very good decisions with the ball in her hands. She is confident cacthing in the middle of the press, or making passes out of the block. On defense, Nylah does exactly what she needs to do. She battles in the paint with other post players, making sure everything they get is difficult. She is also great in help defense and can get blocks on guards that drive into the paint. It will be exciting to watch this freshman continue to hold her own with older players this summer and as her career continues the next 3 years.

Duncan is a great up and coming post player that truly embraces post play. She is strong with her post up position, giving guards an excellent target in the paint. Her footwork is one of a seasoned player and will only continue to get better at Rangeview High School. She finishes well in the paint and is equally confident from mid-range. Duncan has wonderful vision as a post player, finding the right passes from the paint or when helping to break presses. On defense, this freshman gives up nothing. She uses her height perfectly when helping against drives in the paint and is always matched up against the best post players on the opposing teams. Nylah is very mobile on defense, helping on screens and pulling rebounds for her team nightly. Look for Duncan to continue to make a mark for herself in her future years.
