makes Central DeWitt a dark horse in this year’s tourney. Averaging 7.8 points and an eye-catching 6.7 assists per game, this senior can dish the rock and convert at the rim. Kinley is shooting 40% from the floor and has also caught fire from deep as of late. Birt has had games with 2, 3, and even 5 made three pointers in the last few weeks, adding another element to the Sabers’ offensive attack that defenders will have to adapt to. If Birt carries this hot shooting streak while continuing to distribute to scoring teamates, you’ll have to watch out for Central DeWitt.

19 & 8. The balanced Guard attack of Central DeWitt is something the Sabers are going to miss after this season. They will lose their two best players, both college committed guards, due to graduation so they are living in the moment right now as they look at make it back to DSM once more before that time. One of those guards, that has been around for year’s now is

. Birt just had 19 points and 8 assists on Saturday evening to help her squad. She went 7/9 from the field, including going 5/6 from three point line, only missing one shot from deep. These shots mainly came off of the creation of others and were catch-and-shoot situations but she also got her own whenever needed. If Central DeWitt wants to make another big State run, this type of Guard play will be necessary. That’s for sure.

to accent your team, you are in good shape. Birt has been playing like pass-first PG #1 this Winter. Selfless and calm while controlling. Birt is getting everyone around her involved off of her creation, she is crashing the boards hard, she is defending and creating chaos with her pressure, and she is controlling pace-of-play with how the game is played in end-to-end speed. There are others who are scoring the ball but Birt is setting the tone by setting all of those players up for successes so that’s really the most vital part when you think about it in the grand scheme of things.

Kinley Britt has an argument for moving into the Top 100 Rankings for the 2026 Class come December because of her athletic ability, her ability to be versatile as a lead PG with other good players around her, & her leadership qualities. Offensively, she is a pass-first PG with a nice shooting stroke when it’s rotated back to her. She can also play off the ball and knock shots down off the catch if she needs to move to the side to let someone else bring it up. Defensively, she holds her own. At the end of the day Birt is a college level player. If herself and

is going to help Central DeWitt High School shock some teams this upcoming Winter season. Birt is a stingy PG with good strength for her size. She is more of a facilitator with the basketball in her possession but she can also score it at a pretty throughout rate. Birt holds a few D3 offers at this time out of her area. I’m not sure which she will end up committing too or when but whoever gets her, is getting someone who competes hard and plays the right way with some solid skill. All things that colleges love to see while competing at any level.

doesn’t get enough credit. She is asked to come into the game and make some plays off the bench. Something that isn’t the easiest things to do but from what we have seen these past few months, she does a good job of producing in her role. Birt is the type that won’t hurt you out on the hardwood, while giving you total effort and some flashes of noteworthy skill as a guard. She can handle at a solid rate, find others, and even hit some jumpers off of the catch when she has adequate timing. Her AAU team is guard heavy with basically a full future college line-up of prospects and Birt still does a respectable job of standing out. If she carries this momentum into the Winter with her Sabers program, who knows where they could take things.

of Central DeWitt High School picked up another offer a few days ago when she took an official visit to St. Ambrose out of the Quad Cities. This ins’t Birt’s first offer and it won’t be her last. This is someone that is wirey. She is really strong for her size and she plays the game the right way. Offensively, she is always willing to pass the rock for a better look but she is also very coordinated in her ability to score. At Central DeWitt this Winter, Birt is going to be looked at as the big dawg on campus so she will have ample opportunity to show her what she can really do before graduating.

of Central DeWitt from this past season and I think she brings a lot of positives to the hardwood. Birt is not the one to kill you with fancy moves or a 40 point outing, instead she keeps to herself and makes calculated choices that usually lead to an open attempt by herself at the hoop or by a fellow teammate when defense attempts to over-help. She can also set up her team’s offense and control the pace-of-play throughout the entire duration of a contest if she so chooses. Defensively, Birt gets after it. She doesn’t take no for an answer and she always seems to be creating tips, deflections, and eventually – turnovers. Again, Birt might not score 40-50 in any specific contest but she makes her mark whenever she laces up her kicks and I imagine that will be the same case yet again this weekend on the road.
