of Xavier High School has committed to stay in her hometown and compete with Coe College for the next few years following this Winter season. Wilson is another that you always consider PG#1 when she is lacing up her kicks. She is very good at understanding situational basketball and she can handle under high pressure without turning it over on a consistent basis. She has proven that over her career during the regular high school season, the Post season on their State Title run in years past, and during AAU season on the road with her
Team Iowa
program. We have seen some noteworthy plays over Wilson’s career but she is only going to get better once she gets to college if she stays mentally locked in.

A do-it-all point guard, Wilson can score at all three levels and facilitate from anywhere on the court. She plays bigger than her listed 5-foot-6 height because she’s strong. That helps her finish at the rim, defend and rebound. Coming into a game against Iowa City High in late December, Wilson was leading the Saints in points, rebounds, steals and assists. A solid defensive specialist in volleyball, the senior moves well lateral and athleticism stands out. Wilson moves well laterally, which helps her lock down on the ball defensively. She’s a smart player that limits mistakes and makes teammates around her better.

Every college coach that I hold a conversation with loves the style that

has in her bag. Wilson is a pass first PG with natural vision and an act for being able to create off the dribble. Wilson can also crash the boards hard, create chaos defensively with her active feet and hands, and she does all the little things that coaches love like she communicates at a high rate and is always giving her maximum effort. I’m not sure which college will lock Wilson in following this season but whoever gets her is getting an instant impact player deepening on the Division-level.

Xavier High School recorded the upset last night when they faced off against one of the best teams in 5A in CR – Prairie. Xavier ended up winning the contest by 13 points and that is because of the play of their star PG –

. Wilson registered 21 points & 20 rebounds to complete a 20/20 game, along with securing the W. There aren’t many PG’s that will ever record a stat-line like this. Even if the player is a high end rebounder, 20 is A LOT when there are several bigger players on the floor. Especially when your job is to control pace of play and the offense from the top of the key so this showing was impressive for a few reasons. Mainly because of the numbers in general and the victory when the final buzzer sounded. Wilson is a 2026 that is still uncommitted. She is a viable option for college coaches at multiple levels. She is the definition of a pass first PG with scrappy defense, a smart head on her shoulders, and she is a born leader. That is everything you’d want from a coaches POV.

Though it seems like a simple concept, one of the biggest intangibles college players look for in recruits is how hard they play — I cannot think of a player grittier than

. She only knows one speed (fast), and she gives all-out effort every time she steps on the floor. Speaking of floor…you’ll find Wilson on it countless times in a game between diving for loose balls, drawing charges, and just making hustle plays. I’m looking at Wilson to be a go-to player this year as a senior and I’m excited to see her already-impressive numbers jump up this season.

One of the best overall PG’s that the state of Iowa has to offer moving into this Winter is

of CR – Xavier High School. Wilson, a 5’6 PG, is a leader with her ability create off the dribble, her ability to tell others where they need to be and when, and her ability to control the pace of play of the game. When you have a PG that can just make things happen, it can be special and Wilson has that talent in her bag. That talent will show out this upcoming Winter and I’m sure it will follow her to the college ranks in some capacity as well.

of CR Xavier is still uncommitted at this time but I’m sure that won’t last for much longer. Wilson came onto the Varsity scene years ago but last season was the Winter that really put her on the map. Wilson led her CR Xavier team to a 4A State Title as their leading PG, making all the right decisions along the way. On this journey, she didn’t only show that she can handle, create, facilitate, and defend – she demonstrated that she can be a leader of any program when she has the ball in her possession vocally and through instruction. She is a total game leader by definition and that talent is going to translate to the next level when she finally gets there.

and her Xavier squad. Xavier came into this State Tournament as the #8 seed but they sure aren’t playing like it. Last night they took down the powerhouse that is Norwalk High School and their X-factor was Wilson at the PG spot. Wilson made shots all night from all three offensive levels, she took a huge charge to get a key opponent into foul trouble in the second half, and she scored a crucial 5 points within the last two minutes to seal the victory for her team. This was such a standout performance that afterwards she was offered on the spot to play the next level from a college coach out of the state of Iowa. I think that says it all. This was her first offer and it won’t be her last. Especially if she follows up on Saturday with an even better showing.

brings a lot to the table for Cedar Rapids Xavier and is capable of being the extra spark the Saints need to return to the State Tournament this season. Wilson is playing her best basketball right now and has really impressed me with her numbers leading up to postseason play. Throughout her last ten games Madden is shooting the three ball at a 42% clip, and follows up her offensive production across the board in other categories — including averaging 7 boards, 3.5 assists, and 2.6 steals per game. Wilson is definitely one to watch during regionals and does the little things to be the impact player for Xavier.

Madden did a little bit of everything for CRX on Saturday. Her nonstop motor was on display, finishing the night with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (including 4/6 from three). Madden looked confident stepping into jumpers and caused multiple turnovers with her feisty help side defense. I really liked how much she affected the pace of the game – she was constantly looking to pass the ball up the floor and even split a pair of Mustangs for a coast to coast transition layup. Wilson is ready to level up during her junior season.
