Buco made a significant splash last year and is expected to have a major impact in her senior campaign. The big shot-maker has serious range plus she’s the type to catch fire easily. There’s no wonder why Kyla brings such high expectations.

One of BCRI’s finest has made her decision to continue her career at Western New England University. This will be a great fit for both academics and athletics. WNE is getting a player that a packs a big punch. What a great recruit.

Kyla has been quite impressive so far. Having a chance to watch some full game highlights, it’s clear Buco is so much more than just a shooter. Of course, she can hit big time shots, as well as showing the capacity to put it on the floor a bit. However, it was her defense that stood out, particularly in their 61-55 win over Castle Athletics. Buco showed she can cancel out offensive guards with persistent perimeter protection while engaging the primary ballhandlers. Her hands were active, agitating some talented guards and disturbing their peace. Kyla has been a stately contributor for her squad so far.

Kyla has the capability to light it up from where on the floor. It doesn’t take much to get her in the flow and what’s most impressive is that she can create her own looks off the dribble or find a quality look as the ball swings within the offensive motions. Buco can put it on the floor some too which just gives her even more options as defenders are hesitant to let her bomb from beyond the arc.

Recently named Athlete of the Week by the Cranston Herald, Buco has had a dominate season so far. There’s been a handful of impressive showings coming from the #8 ranked shooting guard in ’26. She’s been a leading figure for Cranston West and this latest game vs Ponaganset. She scored nearly half the teams points in the tough loss which just speaks to the effectiveness of her game.

What a potent scorer Buco is. She adds fundamental floor spacing out on the perimeter and is liable to have a major scoring output on any given night. Kyla has one of the best pure shots in the state, no matter the class. She also puts the ball on the floor fairly well for such an exceptional shooter. Buco maintains great court vision while attacking primary defenders that are closing out. Currently the #44 ranked player in the class, she can surely be a stock riser this season.

The 5’7 shooting guard is a sniper with dynamic scoring capabilities that is expanding her game very quickly. Buco has 3-level scoring capabilities and she’s an excellent teammate. A well-rounded 2 guard that shows flashes of a dynamic scorer. She has a tight handle and sharp passes that hit her teammates directly. The BCRI guard has shown improvements as a defender this AAU season and she’s looking to follow up on that for Cranston West this season. Buco has had major scoring outputs that have put Rhode Island on notice, but where Kyla will really shine is filling up the stat sheet. Expect her to add to her sharpshooting ability with hard drives, fast paced assists and adding a couple steals playing a lead role this upcoming season. Buco has a real opportunity to put the state on notice. She is looking to become one of the best guards in the state at the pace she’s at.
