Athletic lead guard Johnson-Cooper has the upside to be an impact player on both ends of the court. When Booker T Washington punched their ticket to the Class 5A State Tournament easier this year, it was Johnson-Cooper flying around the court making plays. Even a huge transition block. Her all around game has been on display this spring, proving she has floor general qualities.

is a floor general. Someone that can handle at a high rate, run her team’s offense, and go get you a bucket when you might need it the most. Johnson-Cooper plays on a team that is going to have a few players that compete at a high collegiate level at the end of the day and she could turn out to be one of the best. She does a fantastic job of leading by example every time down the floor, letting it be known that she is a vocal and emotional leader for her squad. I had the chance to see several talented PG’s the past few days and Johnson-Cooper was one of the best. She played simple but smart basketball and because of that, her team was extremely successful in each one of their contests. At this rate, if she can continue to ball out like this, she is going to be a hot commodity in the recruiting world, if she isn’t already. Her game speaks for itself and that is something you love to see.

5’4″, PG, Booker T. Washington (OK), Banshees 2025, 2026 – There was a lot to like about Johnson-Cooper’s game. With quick hands, good hops, a solid build, and perimeter shooting ability she could draw defenders away from her bigs. She would also attack close-outs on occasion and use her quick handles to create space. Defensively, the team’s man and half-court trapping defense tore even the stronger teams up. Her quicks and hand speed were a big part of that game, turning opponents over again and again.

Ky’iin Cooper-Johnson is a basketball player known for her great on-ball defense and instincts off the ball. She handles the ball well and is aggressive when attacking the rim, able to navigate through traffic. She is a player that can disrupt the opposing team’s offense and can provide a spark to her own team’s offense with her ability to get to the rim. She can also shoot it from deep and will come up big for her team when they need her.
