Garcia averaged 7.4 points and 4.4 rebounds for Lincoln Southeast this winter. But she moves to the Nebraska Attack 17U UAA team for the spring and summer season and will play for a team that is loaded with talented post players. With her length, Garcia has shown good ability to get to the rim. She shot 40% from the floor this past winter and has improved her outside shot at well, making 21 3s for Lincoln Southeast on 34% shooting from deep.

is going to be a solid player once she finds her footing at the college level one day. Garcia is one of those players with length, a decent skill set, and a lot of promise looking towards the future. Right now she is the type that really thrives off of cutting and near the hoop against smaller opponents but she is learning to be able to step out more an more to become a threat off her jumper from deep. Last week Garcia received one of her first college offers to Nebraska Wesleyan. This should be the first of a few offers for Garcia. She has all the skill to become a real killer in the right situation. She just needs to find her niche and the rest will be history.

One of my favorite screeners from Sunday’s showcase was

, out of Lincoln Southeast High School. She head-hunted on screens and impressed me with her ability to seal. She’s an instant mismatch against smaller guards, and used that to her advantage all day while initiating contact on hard rolls to the basket. I really enjoyed watching her play on Sunday.

Garcia was one of the most notable standouts on Sunday. Her versatility was on full display as she produced on both ends.
Garcia is a strong finisher around the basket, making her an effective roller.
Leslie has made improvements in her shot and is a capable shooter, especially off of the catch.
On defense, she is a strong post defender who can switch out onto guards. She was one of the best communicators on that end as well, commanding the back line of the defense.

is going to be a STEAL for someone at the college level. (An INSANELY talented steal.) Garcia is a 2027 prospect with size, skill, knowledge of the game, discipline, and everything in-between. She is a three level scorer of the rock on offense, while being big enough to be able to switch onto multiple positions defensively as well at 5’11/6’0. The reality is that Garcia should have been a Varsity starter for years now and she just didn’t get that chance for whichever reason but that should change this upcoming Winter when she competes for a new program in Lincoln Southeast. If she plays to her full capabilities over the next two Winter seasons, I have no doubt in my mind she will be on a collegiate roster following high school graduation.

This Winter we are going to be able to see what

can really do on the hardwood and I think she is going to turn a lot of heads. Garcia is a hooper that has great size, skilled ability, and she is pretty athletic. She can kill you from the outside and hit a jumper at 5’11, she can take you off the bounce for a look going at the hoop, or she can post up smaller defenders that as placed onto her individually. We should have been able to see Garcia for two years now at the varsity level but that’s not the case. The last time that I saw her compete, she was most definitely a collegiate level athlete. No doubt about it so I’m excited to see her shine for her Junior year in a new system.

makes the move this offseason moving to Lincoln SE High School for her remaining two years. The reality of the situation is that Gracia she of been a borderline starter on Varsity as a Freshman. Her mixture of length, athletic ability, situational awareness, and adaptability is eye-catching. When used in the right ways, this player is a difference maker in every definition of the phrase. I can’t wait to see that on display over the next two years in her new program. She should be working inside-to-out at a high rate and finding a lot of success because of it. Southeast got a big pick up in this one. Just watch and see.

of Lincoln North Star High School. Garcia stands right around 6’0, she has a lot of athletic ability, and her coordination is is better than the average for this mixture. When she gets moving, it’s like a bolt of lightning but that’s not how I would explain her play-style. She is very calculated and knowledgable. If she has a simple, easy take to the hoop in a straight line, she will take it. She won’t overcomplicate what she is trying to do and that might be one of her best attributes as a prospect. I’ll make it out to see the CSS Bisons this AAU season on the Blue Star Circuit. They have more talented players than just Garcia but she is definitely one that is going to catch the eye of college recruiters this Spring.

Leslie Garcia comes into this Player Rankings Update as the most underrated prospect in the state moving into this Winter. I had the privilege of seeing Garcia this Fall a few different times and each game I was blown away. Her mixture of height, athletic ability near and away from the hoop, touch on the basketball, knowledge of the game, and ability to play inside-to-out stood out above almost everyone else on the floor. I understand Lincoln North Star is a program with a system that gets results but if Garcia doesn’t see the Varsity floor this Winter, I’ll be speechless. That’s how much potential she has and how high her ceiling really is.

The most surprising prospect to myself on the day had to be SG/CG/SF, Leslie Garcia of Lincoln North Star High School. Garcia stands right around 5’11 and she is truly one of a kind on the hardwood from what I’ve seen over the past few days. Offensively, she can handle, finish in the post on either side of the hoop with either hand, she usually beats her opponent down the floor for easy layups or buckets in transition, she can spot up and knock down shots, and she has some nasty touch on the ball near the hoop. Defensively, her mixture of athletic ability and size is how she can handle almost any matchup thrown her way. Could be a faster guard or a bigger post, it really doesn’t matter. Garcia is going to get stops on her opponent a majority of the time, no matter the situation and that speaks volumes. I’m not sure what’s going on during the high school season but Garcia should start this Winter at Lincoln North Star. If not, she should be the first one off the bench cause in 85% of other places, she is a Day 1 starter at the Varsity level.
