You could debate that Lucy Terrones Lucy Terrones 5'6" | PG/SG Gilbert | 2029 State IA had one of the best Freshman season’s as a whole out of this group this past Winter at Gilbert High School. Terrones wasn’t the main star of their action but she made plays that set the tone and helped them compete every single night they laced up their kicks so it’s not crazy to think that she can really make somethings happen on the road with this group this AAU season. This is a PG/SG, that understands how to run some complicated systems offensively. She leads with pace of play whenever the ball is in her position but she also loves to push the ball in transition off of a missed shot and rebound. All in all, this is ANOTHER really solid piece to the puzzle that is the Missouri Phenom 15U Iowa Hub team. A piece that is going to help them win a lot of games over the next few months by the looks of it.

Gilbert High School is in good hands over their next few years with the guard play they are bringing to the Varsity floor. We have known about their PG #1 Callie Hales Callie Hales 5'10" | PG Gilbert | 2027 State IA for awhile now as being a future college baller but someone else to keep an eye on, who made strides this Winter as a competitor is PG/SG – Lucy Terrones Lucy Terrones 5'6" | PG/SG Gilbert | 2029 State IA . Terrones stands at 5’6 and she makes plays happen. She is versatile in the aspects of being able to play the 1, 2, or 3 coming down the floor so she is a perfect prospect to pair with Hales as they can work in tandem coming down the court. She isn’t the type that needs the ball in her possession for long periods of time to make things happen. She knows to accept the pass and rotate the rock whenever they are running their motion and she never sticks in one place for too long during a possession. There is a lot to like out of Terrones and her game right now. If she continues to build on that, who knows where it might take her on her basketball journey.

You could consider Lucy Terrones Lucy Terrones 5'6" | PG/SG Gilbert | 2029 State IA a little underrated with how well she has started off her high school career over the past few months. Terrones is making plays as a Freshman behind other established playmakers of the Gilbert program right now as they battle right around the .500 mark on the Winter. Terrones is a well-rounded guard. Her handle is coordinated, she plays smart basketball, she communicates well with her teammates, and she always gives 100% effort on both sides of the floor when she laces them up. This is usually someone bringing up the ball as the 1 but with who they have on the roster right now, she moves to play at the 2 and 3 too if needed. There has been a lot to like so far this season with Terrones. She just needs to continue to grind to become the best version of herself. Something do-able with the foundation she has set in place.

Gilbert is going to make a run at some point this Winter. I’m not sure if that will be prior to the Playoffs or when we finally get there but they are going to have a lot of pieces that can produce compared to years past. They will have their usual suspects but someone to note is Lucy Terrones Lucy Terrones 5'6" | PG/SG Gilbert | 2029 State IA . Terrones steps onto the floor as a crafty guard, who can move between positions if need be. She can handle and facilitate with adequate knowledge of the game or she can move off the ball and make things happen while attacking or creating off of the Wing. When you pair that along with the learning experience she will receive under current Varisty PG – Callie Hales Callie Hales 5'10" | PG Gilbert | 2027 State IA , the possibilities are endless.
