About Lydia
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I am a versatile 5’7” shooting guard/small forward with a high basketball IQ who plays the game the right way. I take pride in making the best basketball decision, whether that’s knocking down a three, attacking the basket, or creating an easy scoring opportunity for a teammate. I play with toughness and aggression on both ends of the floor. Despite my size, I’m a strong rebounder who isn’t afraid
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I am a quiet leader who leads by example through my work ethic, competitiveness, and commitment to my team. I’m coachable, dependable, and always looking for ways to improve my game. I love to compete and bring intensity every time I step on the floor. I believe success comes from putting the team first, staying humble, and working harder than everyone else.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I strive to represent my school, team, and community with integrity. Along with basketball, I value academics, giving back when I can, and continuing to grow as a student, teammate, and leader.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Basketball has taught me leadership, accountability, resilience, and the importance of teamwork. I lead through my actions by competing hard, encouraging my teammates, and putting the team’s success ahead of individual accomplishments. My strong work ethic, coachability, and willingness to do the little things—from rebounding to defending to making the extra pass—have helped me become who I am.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
As a 5’7” wing player, I’ve had to prove that size doesn’t define impact. I’ve embraced the challenge by developing my toughness, rebounding ability, defensive intensity, ability to score and overall basketball IQ. I focus on controlling what I can—my effort, attitude, and work ethic—and I use every challenge as motivation to become a better player and teammate.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college where I can compete at a high level, continue to grow as a player, and earn a great education. I want to be part of a program that values hard work, accountability, and a team-first culture. I want a coach who believes in me and pushes me every time I step on the court. My goal is to contribute to winning while continuing to improve every aspect of my game.
