She’s also a reliable three-point shooter with a smooth catch-and-shoot stroke. When attacking the basket, she stays balanced and under control, and she complements her driving ability with a polished floater game that allows her to finish over taller defenders in the paint.

Mackenzie impressed at the Babson Showcase Camp with her confident three-point shooting, knocking down shots even when contested. She moves well without the ball to create open looks and has the ability to generate separation off the dribble, allowing her to hit pull-up threes effectively.

Martinez attended Babson’s basketball camp recently and she looked good. She’s synergistic, has ideal problem-solving skills plus she isn’t afraid of the big moments. Her adaptable skills have no boundaries and she just finds ways to impact the game.

The quick feet, fast reaction time plus fearless mentality to take tough shots will make Martinez one to watch. Although at Tabor she isn’t known to be a volume scorer by any means, Martinez is going to have more opportunities with the ball in her hands in AAU and she’s going to capitalize on these possessions.

Martinez is a name that shouldn’t be glossed over. She’s played with some of the top talent in the entire region and has earned trusted minutes alongside them. Her ability to speed the tempo up and extend the spacing with her long-range shooting does a lot for lineups. Mackenzie should have a big AAU season coming up.

Mackenzie plays with patience and poise, letting the game come to her rather than forcing tough shots. She’s a reliable shooter from both three and the mid-range, often taking one controlled dribble inside the arc before pulling up smoothly. Mackenzie finishes well through contact, embracing physicality to earn trips to the free throw line for and-1 opportunities. Her quick release makes her dangerous off the catch, and she consistently keeps her head up to advance the ball and find teammates streaking ahead in transition.

Mackenzie is extremely quick and does a great job sprinting the floor, often beating everyone down the court in transition for easy layups. She has also shown this season that she can finish strong with either hand around the basket. She shoots the ball very well from three, and her team runs a lot of sets designed to get her perimeter looks. When those opportunities come, she moves well without the ball, coming off screens, setting her feet quickly, and getting balanced to consistently knock down shots.

Mackenzie is excellent at advancing the ball up the court, consistently finding her open teammates for easy layups in transition. She can’t be given any space along the three-point line, as she’s more than capable of knocking down shots from deep. On defense, Mackenzie moves her feet well to stay in front of her opponent and uses quick hands to poke the ball loose. She’s a strong ball handler who can confidently play both the point guard and shooting guard roles when needed.

An extremely hardworking adaptable guard that will do whatever it takes to get the win. Mackenzie gets the job done and doesn’t care how it looks. Her 2-way abilities allowed her to add value to one of the most talented teams in the region. Getting minutes alongside a McDonald’s All-American is an impressive feat. She’s proved throughout this season to be one of the top overall guards in the class. Martinez has moved up in rankings to #24 and #2 at her position.
