Expert Analysis
Jeremy Brooks | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
We said it when it originally happened but Macy Comito was Player Of The State Tournament, no matter the age or Class level. She was unstoppable. Plain and simple. No one could stop her from dominating in every facet of the game while she was competing. She did everything you’d want her to as an offensive threat. She was scoring at Will, so much so that then other teammates around her became open for easy assists. Defensively, she recorded several steals, which led to a bunch of buckets going the other way in transition. All in all, Comito put on a tournament that she is going to be able to look back on for the rest of her life and be proud of the production she put on the floor.

of Carlisle High School. Comito proved to everyone watching last week that she deserves to be in this Top Five listing to finishing off her high school career. What we watched her do this past season is nothing short of noteworthy. She led her team to a 4A State Title while DOMINATING her competition in every facet. The only team her program lost to this Winter was DSM-Valley out of the 5A Class and they only lost by 1 or 2, demonstrating that they belonged in the conference for one of the best 4A programs throughout the state of Iowa. When Comito looks back in a few years, she should be proud of her accomplishments. She put together a high school career that should get her jersey retired at Carlisle in the future and that’s not something most others will be able to say.

just put together in front of the State was legendary. When we look back at the 24′-25′ 4A race, #8 Xavier ran the bracket behind the spectacular play of Libby Fandel. This season Comito did much of the same expect her team only lost once overall and they weren’t as low as an 8 seed coming into the week of State. We are going to look back at this Winter in the near future and remember the 4A Class because of Comito’s excellence. That’s just the reality. She made so many plays at a high level that it makes sense that she was voted for 4A All Tournament Team Captain. She had the best week as an individual overall out of all Classes and grade levels throughout Iowa so it’s nice to see her rewarded for that.

Carlisle High School moves into the Top 5 in the 4A Class as we head into the Playoff’s this next week with a shot of an appearance at State if they handle things accordingly. A big reason for Carlisle’s success is the skill level and more-so, skill-gap from

to the rest of her competition. Comito is simply a next level prospect, that is cool as the other side of the pillow. She is smooth with her movement, she is crafty for her size, and she is used to a big work load throughout a long battle on the hardwood when the situation calls for it. Comito has been a top player out of the 2026 Class for years now, moving all around the Top 10. When she looks back at what she has accomplished individually throughout the past four season, she should be proud. She is going to be a legend in Carlisle history for the next 50 years and that’s noteworthy.

. Comito, the future Iowa State Cyclone’s WBB, is giving teams all they can handle as a predator on the hardwood. She is attacking relentlessly towards the bucket at all times, never taking her foot of the gas and she is helping her team do whatever is needed so that they can win the game in the end. Which is all that really matters. Everyone knows that you need multiple prospects to step up come Playoff time so we will see who their 2 – 3 others will be. They have some others around that can do some things, they just need to play with confidence and make it happen now.

is the top player within the Raccoon River Conference this Winter. The Iowa State Women’s Basketball commit is going to put up some historic numbers on both sides of the floor over the next few months. Up until this point in her career Comito has been dominant as a lead scorer, facilitator, rebounder, and defender. This season will be her last on the high school floor so I’m expecting her to leave it all out there. That could mean several things. It could mean she will continue to put up eye-opening numbers as a producer. It could mean that she will lead her team to the State Tournament. It could mean both. No matter what though, we know that Comito will be a name we hear about a few more times before she becomes a Cyclone.

is going to have a chance to continue her legacy this Winter with Carlisle High School before leaving for Ames to compete at Iowa State with the Cyclones. Comito is a top player in the 2026 Class throughout Iowa with a smart head on her shoulders. She has been someone that has averaged some pretty insane numbers up until this point in her career and she will be able to continue to build on that for another six-eight months. Following, we will see Comito rock the red and gold for the Cyclones, hopefully building on that momentum as she continues to grow in her game as an overall baller.

. Comito is as smooth as they come as an operator with the basketball. She moves effortlessly down the floor with and without the ball, even though she is much better running her team’s systems with possession. I’m looking for her to be a monster again this high school season. She is going to be looked upon as her team’s heart and soul in most ways so if she can producer per usual, she is going to put together one hell of a Senior season. I expect Comito to lead her team to State one more time over the next 12 months. There we will see what she is really made of before sending her off to the Cyclones.

is not seeing the floor a ton right now during the AAU season but that makes sense if you take a look at their roster. It’s full of nationally ranked killers on the hardwood. Nevertheless, I have a feeling that Comito is going to come out on fire this high school season. She is going to want to produce at high rates per usual and I think she will succeed in that endeavor. Comito comes into this ESPNW Update inside the Top 90. It’s also her first time getting National love so no matter the rank, this is a big deal!
