Herzik was wearing pink shoes, my favorite color, and that helped me along the way because she had a knack for being wherever the ball was. She scored off the dribble but peep this, with either hand, and her slight HEZ to get the defender off balance was very nice. She also dropped the jumper and saw the floor but her “on the ball” defense coupled with quick hands got her some steals yet also got some playing the passing lane

Madison stepped up in a major way this weekend for the 7th-grade squad, playing against many older teams and extremely stiff competition in Houston. Madison was undeterred, toppling over a few times and bouncing back up with a head swing and forehead swipe. She’d dig a little deeper and pick up the theoretical slack. Tough as nails and with an IQ ahead of her years, it will be interesting to see how she continues to develop over the years.
