Madison Hillman Madison Hillman 6'1" | PF Saint Ansgar | 2023 State IA registered a stat in almost every positive category on Tuesday night in her teams 59-21 win over Nashua-Plainfeild high school. Hillman recorded a game high 19 points on 9/13 shooting, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 blocks, 5 steals. When we break it down into simpler terms, this performance almost outscored the opposing team by itself. Something that definitely should be talked about. Hillman has been really consistent this year when it comes to her stat lines and how her game has been played. She hasn’t tried to do to much while sharing the ball and thus far its been going good as they currently have a 10-5 record with some quality wins under their belt. This is a group that does have a main option in Hillman but tends to play team basketball. They have a balanced attack and do a good job of spreading the ball around. No one in this group has ever stood out as selfish as they are always wanting to make the extra pass, for an easy basket. This strategy will tend to play into their favor once the playoffs start. It is always tougher to stop a group working together on the court than one individual player in most cases. I think this group can come out and shock some teams once the post season begins if they keep up all the little things that they are doing as a program thus far with Hillman leading from the front.

Saint Ansgar High School didn’t make it to far once the playoffs started last year as they fell in the quarterfinal game to Nashua-Plainfield High school, capping off their season with an overall 14-9 record, 10-6 in conference. Retuning for this season, the Saints will bring back some major contributors from a year ago to try and piece the puzzle back together once again for successful season. One of those key juniors being Madison Hillman Madison Hillman 6'1" | PF Saint Ansgar | 2023 State IA . Hillman, the 6’2 froward, lead the Saints in scoring, and rebounding last year. Showing that she is a name to be known in the paint when you are playing against her. She averaged a double double by simply being superior to her completion she went up against. She was bigger, fast, and stronger VS anyone she played, leading to some good results. Looking forward to the 22′-23′ season, the Saints will have a good group of core players coming back to make some noise as the year goes forward. Hillman will be even more of a key piece to their offense coming up this winter and she is ready for the challenge.

Madison Hillman was the main option last season for Saint Ansger High School , averaging 15 PPG, 12.2 RPG, 1.8 AP, and leading the Saints to an overall 14-9 record, 10-6 in conference. The women in the middle causes problems around the basket for her opponent with her size and strength. Hillman blocked 92 shots last year while altering many others, this ranks her at #3 overall in 1A last season behind Audi Crooks of Bishop Garrigan and Lauren Wilson of Springville in this category. It will be a test this season as she comes back with light bench experience for Saint Ansger with aspirations of success.
