Win number 16 had to be very sweet for 5A Division 2 North Myrtle Beach especially considering the Chiefs are 16-for-16 in 2025-26. Vereen had another productive game as she helped North Myrtle Beach’s efforts with 13 points. Vereen displays her offensive toughness with her willingness to draw contact and find her way to the free throw line. She is every bit as effective a passer as she is as a scorer – Vereen also dished out six assists in addition to hauling in seven rebounds. At 5-foot-11, she presents a taller stature than the average point guard and is one of four juniors on this season’s Chiefs team. Vereen runs with SC Future during travel play.

Vereen ensured that North Myrtle Beach’s transition from 4A to 5A Division 2 was smooth and serene. The Chiefs advanced to the Lower State finals and Vereen averaged a stellar 13.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.8 steals and 4.2 assists in the 25 games she played last season sporting North Myrtle Beach blue and gold. Vereen is another standout veteran who has the 5-foot-11 height of a power forward or even a traditional five but makes plays with consistency as a guard. Last season’s North Myrtle Beach team finished 22-3 and had some noteworthy graduations following the 2024-25 campaign so showcase events such as these are a worthwhile tune-up for Vereen who will be a focal point of the Chiefs this season.

We spotlighted one prospect from 5A Division 2 North Myrtle Beach earlier in Powell. As Roses Friday reached its evening hours, Vereen, proudly sporting the green and white SC Future 16U uniform, let Shooters United 16U National out of Texas know exactly why she is another prospect held in high regard. When Vereen has the ball in her hands, her speed and ball handling capabilities make her difficult to contain. Vereen’s heads-up play enables her to come away with many a steal. She plays effectively in the interior on both ends of the floor while also thriving as a point guard. Versatile, veteran and very skilled, Vereen averaged 13.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.8 steals and 4.2 assists last season for the Chiefs who concluded the 2024-25 season as Lower State finalists in 5A Division 2.

Madison can play anywhere on the perimeter for the Lady Chiefs. She feels very comfortable handling the ball up the floor and hitting the glass on both ends of the court. Madison is very active in the passing lanes. She really can manufacture her own points if means finishing at the rim, picking up steals or putbacks on the glass.
Madison moves up from 25 to 21 this time around in the 2027 Palmetto State Rankings.
