About Maeghan
Expert Analysis
Hunter Keith | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Meaghan Hicks played well throughout the Florida Brawl, showing strong control from the point guard position and consistently making quality decisions with the basketball. She handled the ball with confidence, directed the offense effectively, and showed a strong understanding of the pick-and-roll game. At times she attacked the rim aggressively herself, while other times she delivered smart, timely passes to teammates. One of the more impressive parts of her game was how quickly she could turn defense into offense. Hicks was very effective playing over the top of presses, creating steals, and immediately converting those opportunities into transition layups. She showed high basketball IQ, playmaking ability, and the ability to handle a lot of responsibility offensively. For a young sophomore point guard, her overall production, leadership, and composure stood out.
