About Maiya

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a big guard who drives strong to basket, knocks down threes, moves well without the ball, and runs the floor. Defensively, I pick up steals by altering passes and I rebound well on both sides of the floor.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am an energetic person who likes to maintain the high-energy at practice or games. I enjoy playing with a team with a great team culture, so I try to fuel that in any way I can.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I think I have gained a lot of leadership qualities from girls that I have played with and coaches. Teamwork is also a big thing for me as I thrive most on teams that play "team first" basketball. I also have developed a lot of resilience because I have been through many ups and downs but remained consistent.

What type of college are you looking for?

As of now, I would prefer a school somewhere in the Midwest, but I am open to anywhere.

Offensively she’s has been growing in confidence, knocking down shots and putting the ball in the basket. Defensively she blocks shots, tips passes, and rebounds with authority.
