Moore is also “long and athletic” Yes, it’s still the base, and she’s ranked the #3 SF in Oklahoma, and I get it because she goes AFTA everything off the rim, and when you come from out of nowhere to rebound or play the passing lane, well, that’s huge. She scored off the dribble, her interior defense was solid, and she scored around the basket, putbacks included

Makiya transfers to Class 6a Champion Putnam City North from Classen SAS. A small forward that can score in all 3 levels of the game. The ability to knock down the outside shot demands defensive coverage on the wings. The strongest part of her game is attacking a weak closeout getting downhill where she can be a play maker. Good decisions on the paint touches that can score but understands the reads and kicks out to open shooters when covered. In the game I watched this summer she never seemed pressured into making bad choices. At 5’11 and physically she plays on blocks as if she were a 6’2 power forward. Good body control and choice of moves make her a matchup problem for smaller guard-oriented teams.
Makiya performance this summer with Southern Assault has taken noticed as she has received offers. A great fit-in style of play for the Lady Panthers making them an early favorite to repeat.

There’s a new staff at Oklahoma City University and they’re trying to lock down one of the best 405 guards. Moore reported this new offer earlier this week. And she has been a popular name for regional programs with Oklahoma Wesleyan and Lincoln University of Missouri among her recent offers. While college looms on the horizon, there’s unfinished business at the high school level. Where Moore will be playing for a new school; the defending Class 6A champions, Putnam City North.

The number who’s recruiting process has increased over the past few months. Great size for a small forward that also is physical enough to play power forward if needed. Excellent offensive rebounder that does an amazing job at reading the ball before it comes off the rim. Nice mid-range shooter that lifts off the dribble to shoot at a high percentage. Perfect fit for a downhill offense as she attacks the gaps and finishes off two feet. A player that stock will increase during the summer.

A 5’11 small forward that when you watch she just has a nice smooth flow about her game. Never seems raddled just cool as can be make the next read on offense making a good decision. Good patience on the dribble waiting e to drop in a gear attacking the defender shoulder to turn the corner. Nice outside stroke that will demand your respect as she can get hot like a shooting guard. A tough defender that plays the passing lanes looking for that steal leading to fastbreak layup. Makiaya had an impressive performance in Arkansas picking up several offers. The recruiting process should pick up after the Live Period.

Moore has joined with teammate Williams to carry the load for the Comets as they made the jump up to Class 5A. She’s been a go to scorer for SAS, while also often cleaning up on the boards. In a pivotal district win over Midwest City, she poured in 24 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Her athleticism shines on both ends of the court. As along with scoring and rebounding, she’s a havoc causer with quick hands for pokes out or deflections. A complete prospect, who made strong strides as a top option for the 14-7 Lady Comets. Helping them earn a Regional host next week to start their playoff journey.

Makiya is a strong small forward that plays at high level. An complete player that can post up, take defender off the dribble or knock down the face up jumper. An athlete that runs the floor hard on every play looking to score a layup or clean up with the put back. Nice spin move in the paint seals the defender creating the space needed to score on a taller defender. A very smooth over the left shoulder move results in a high percentage basket in the paint.
On defense she can defend almost any spot on the floor. I have seen her defend the smaller guard keeping them in front forcing a contested shot. I have also seen her be physical with a much taller post not giving up any ground in the paint.
Mya has Been offered by D1 Lindenwood and several others I am expecting for the offer to pick up after upcoming Live Period

Game Watched: Team Unity Lang vs Team Griffin 2026
From flying around the court with her great athleticism. To establishing herself as a good passer out the high post, Moore checked a lot of boxes for Team Griffin in a win. Especially with her defensive upside as a forward who can switch out onto guards or battle down low. Offensively, a lot of her contributions came via unselfish play, including her good high-low chemistry she had with her squad’s post player. But to close out the game she did finish more efficiently as a scorer, including a tough fadeway make.

It was nice to get my first look in-person at Makiya at one of our events, the PGH Top-250 Expo. It gave me a chance to see her, sort of, out of her element. She didn’t have her usual teammates, her usual plays to run. What did she do? Well, she impressed me beyond pretty much anyone else I saw there. She was so smooth with everything that she did. Her game is far ahead of a lot of her peers and she has that added “wants it” factor that you just can’t teach. Add in her 4.0 GPA (which she is hopefully keeping up this school year) and you have a tremendous all-around Division-I prospect. Lindenwood has already come calling and I have a feeling that after this summer, there will be plenty more to add to the list.

A lanky forward prospect, she was most promising as a rebounder and versatile defender. She has amazing potential as an on the ball disrupter thanks to her quickness and big time wing span. Moore could not be kept off the offensive glass, where she recored 7 of her 9 total rebounds.
