Brandon Tinnon | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
A smaller guard who plays a big role for the Lady Bearettes. I love her ability to push the ball in transition. She did well finding the hot hand, spacing the floor to either get a shot for herself, free up an opportunity for her teammates to work, or attack downhill to the rim. She was solid on the defensive end making the opponent feel uncomfortable. She has committed to Chatt State. Once she is on campus, look for her to get some minutes early and be an asset to their program.

She is ready to carve out a bigger role for her Lady Bearettes ball club. Often overlooked, this kid had a tremendous season on the circuit where she was tested and made her mark against some stiff competition. Now that she is back in school ball, she will look to become a solid contributor who can score but will also be looked upon to get after it on the defensive end. Malia has interest from colleges but look for her to receive even more interest as she battles it out against district foes. Hard nose kid who is going to contribute in multiple ways this upcoming season.

I think Malia Wilcox Malia Wilcox 5'7" | PG Bradley Central | 2025 State TN ‘s best basketball is still in front of her. She’s spent her career playing for a Bradley Central team that is a powerhouse. The good news is that she will likely graduate with three state championships. The bad news is that she’s always been in a reserve role.
BUT–I’ve talked to college coaches who like role players from great programs because the players know how to be patient and be a star in their role. Wilcox is just that. She’s an athletic guard that gets downhill in a hurry. Can finish in traffic with either hand. Is still developing as a shooter. Can defend like all get out. She’s sitting on multiple offers.

Wilcox put all doubters to rest last season. She took over the Bradley PG reigns from Day 1, and never relinquished them. She led them valiantly, limited turnovers, attacked gaps, hit the occasional 3, and played high level defense.

The PG just keeps getting better and better. This weekend she led the BMAZE U17 offensive attack with precision. She led them in assists, and likely paint touches. More importantly to me though, was that she continues to lead them in steals week in and week out. She’s a dynamic defensive player that really causes havoc for opposing ball handlers.

Malia Wilcox Malia Wilcox 5'7" | PG Bradley Central | 2025 State TN is the “head of the snake” for this team, and they feed off her energy. She’s accustomed to being the floor general surrounded by high end talent (this is no putdown at all….but Bradley Central’s starting 4 around Wilcox is better than the starting 4 around her for BMaze). I think college coaches are taking note of the fact she can jump into different basketball ecosystems, and still do what she does well: lead a team, take high efficiency shots, play top tier defense, and distribute the ball (led the team in assists, and had a 4:1 assist to turnover ratio for the weekend).
