Ma’raeyah led the Flint Carman-Ainsworth backcourt and received SVL South All-Conference First Team recognition after a notable junior year. She was a top performer for Mystics 17U Chosen at the PGH MI College Tour and holds offers from St. Clair CC and Mott CC. Her shifty handles, explosive downhill drives, finishing in traffic, court vision, facilitating, and defensive pressure stand out during games.

Ma’raeyah is an athletic, quick, and elusive point guard playmaker who looks ready to have a breakout travel season for Mystics 17U Chosen. She turns on a dime, switches hands suddenly, and accelerates with a burst off the bounce. Ma’raeyah swiped the ball away, put the pedal to the floor, and finished a full-speed and one layup through contact. She completed the three-point play at the line. Ma’raeyah converted a tough layup over a contesting defender with a high arc, used a smooth inside hand finish to score after taking the ball away, and split the gap to score a drive-by bucket using a high-pick-up move in traffic. She side-stepped a defender in the paint to score a layup and put on a show at the PGH MI College Tour.

Ma’raeyah had a great day for Carman-Ainsworth at the LBI Mitten Opening. Her high motor, poised ball-handling, and aggressive two-way effort made a big impact on the court. Ma’raeyah drained a straightaway three, swiped the ball away on defense, pushed it in top gear the other way, used a quick spin move, and finished the tough, contested layup with her left hand off the glass. Ma’raeyah drove hard to the rim and scored a tough layup off two feet.

Maraeyah had a strong showing for Team 7 at the PGH Expo, showcasing her quickness and versatility as a guard. She handled the ball with agility, using her moves to create space and get to the rim, including a smooth step-through finish. Always giving maximum effort, she dove for loose balls and played with a relentless motor. On defense, her active hands made life difficult for opponents, and she also showed her shooting ability by knocking down a three-pointer. Maraeyah’s energy and skill made her a consistent contributor throughout the day.

Maraeyah is a shifty and athletic point guard who creates space with her dribble and gets to the rim. She showed up and showed out at the Mystics open gym a few weeks ago. Maraeyah converted tough finishes at the rim and used her quick hands to steal the ball away on defense. Her complete effort on both ends, dribble penetration, confident ball-handling, contested finishes, and precise passes were separators on the court. Maraeyah will be exciting to watch at The Expo, and she’s a prospect who should have more recruiting interest at this point.

Maraeyah was a point guard who I really enjoyed watching on the travel circuit last season. She blows by defenders with a burst off the dribble, knocks down 3-pointers, and causes turnovers with her in-your-face ball pressure. Maraeyah takes the ball to the hole fearlessly and had some highlight-reel finishes using her athleticism last season. I’m excited to see her flying around on the court again this spring.

Maraeyah has been an exciting guard to watch on the travel circuit and I expect her to be a leader on the court for Carmain-Ainsworth this season. Her explosive steps driving to the basket, toughness finishing in traffic, pesky ball-pressure, and ability to knock down 3s can terrorize opposing teams in the conference. Maraeyah has speed and aggressiveness that creates transition offense, steals, and advantages for her team. When all is said and done, I anticipate Maraeyah will be in the All-Conference conversation after this season.
