Valeria, of Mystics, put together a standout performance Saturday at the MI College Tour Northwood, showcasing her ability to make plays all over the floor. She had defenders off balance all game, highlighted by a smooth spin move in the lane that she finished with ease. From the perimeter, she knocked down shots from deep, while also using a tight, low crossover to get past defenders and finish tough buckets at the rim. In a close two-point win, she stepped up in key moments by converting clutch free throws. Defensively, she added to her impact with multiple blocks, capping off an all-around strong showing.

Valeria came into the P2W Headliners Invitational Showcase ready to make a splash, and she turned in an All-Showcase First Team performance. Valeria was on fire right from the start, drilling a corner three during 3v3 and ripping the nets from beyond the arc during the shooting drills. That continued during games for Team Liberty. Valeria split the gap on a determined downhill drive to score with her left and kept her eyes up in transition, firing skip passes ahead to open teammates. She buried a three in the corner, up top, from the wing, and showed off her range. Valeria used her length to disrupt ball-handlers on the perimeter, creating multiple steals, and made a great kick-out pass to an open teammate for an assist. She slashed to the basket with a burst, switched hands, then finished with her left at the rim. Valeria was aggressive off the dribble, accurate from three, an effective facilitator, active on the boards, and disruptive on the defensive end.

Valeria is a lanky wing/guard prospect who made plays that helped Team 4 compete on both sides of the ball. She used her length to block a shot and anticipated the ball off the rim to secure an offensive rebound, then scored a left-handed floater off two feet. Valeria dribbled left into a smooth pull-up jumper up top and buried a long wing 3.

Ricossa had an impressive day at The Bump with her Mystics team. She is a forward who can stretch the floor with a smooth shot from behind the arc. She knocked down multiple shots in the games I watched. She was able to get to the rim and finish through contact. I look forward to watching Valeria over the next few years.
