About Marcia
Expert Analysis
Bret Swanson | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Watt a combo guard seems to be most comfortable at times playing off the ball. She did set up her teammates on several occasions today with her quality passing. Marcia was able to connect on some shots from behind the three-point line here today. She never seemed to force her shot or passes. Marcia really played well with her teammates on the floor and brought positive energy.

was turning her defense into offense stripping the ball from her opponents and pushing it up the court scoring on some solo fast breaks. She was patient letting set plays develop knowing how to time her cuts and get the pass, and she certainly knows how to make a nice dish to her teammates down below. She even got inside to grab some boards, too, extending offensive plays to get more points.

When coach Shakkia Walker looks at her roster, she will look at the laundry list of standouts that wear the Blue Eagles’ colors and ought to be very impressed with this junior. Watt has participated on the grassroots realm with Charlotte Dream Elite 2024. Last season, Watt was one of four sophomores that comprised the 2021-22 Blue Eagles rendition. The 2022-23 season will be one that sees Watt transition to veteran status and Watt has shown throughout her career that she is more than ready for said challenge. Watt was one of only four from the 2020-21 roster that was at either 5-foot-5 or less and has received more playing time as previous Clover upperclassmen have departed for the college ranks.

showed a lot of strength around the perimeter whether she was finding an open teammate making a backdoor cut or she was scoring her three points after showing off a nice step back move shooting off the dribble. These three pointers came in the face of her defenders several times, and she didn’t shy away from the defense when she was pushing the steals she grabbed up the court quickly for two points.

Watt in the name of Marcia is taking place with the Blue Eagles? Winning…such as when she and the rest of her Clover teammates followed up its 5A championship in 2020-21 with a stellar 18-6 showing (8-0 Region 3-5A) and a run to the second round of the playoffs last season. Watt participated in grassroots ball this spring and summer with Charlotte Dream Elite 16U. The next couple of season are sure to be ones to watch for this 5-foot-6 combo guard, particularly considering she will be hooping under the tutelage of the Blue Eagles’ first-year head coach in Shakkia Walker.
