More Moody means more wins for Megan Assey’s team. On paper, a contest between fellow 5A combatants Spring Valley and Mauldin would come down to the final seconds. The actuality on Monday at Lexington was anything but. Moody scored 31 points to lead her Vikings to an emphatic 82-43 victory over the Mavericks. Moody had 21 at the half. The six-foot Spring Valley senior is not only a consistent scorer, but she delivers plenty of rebounds and utilizes her length to reject plenty of shots. Once this season concludes, Moody will bring her many talents to the Pee Dee for her collegiate ball – Francis Marion to be exact.

Moody really made great strides this time around in the 2025 Palmetto State Rankings. Mariana jumped up from #67 to #20 in this latest update. She brings so much energy to the floor and production every time out. Mariana has good length to be disruptive in the paint and passing lanes with her play. She constantly gets to the foul line just on all-out effort in her game.
Moody recently picked up offers from Newberry and North Greenville University.

Mariana was great today with her play in a win over the Charleston Raptors 17U Red. Moody brings GREAT ENERGY at all times to the floor to go along with constant activity. Mariana fills the lane in transition and was always in position to make a play on the ball. She remains active at all times on the glass, grabbing loose balls on the floor or just getting hustle points for her squad.
Moody will for sure be a Stock-Riser in the future and look her game to keep moving up with her all out play around the bucket.

Speaking of frontcourt standouts on 5A teams, Moody certainly fits that description for coach Megan Assey’s team at Spring Valley. The Vikings will rely predominantly on veteran leadership and instincts to carry them through 2023-24 – Moody is one of those juniors. She is listed at an even six feet and can operate primarily as either a four or as a five. She is used to wearing gold – whether it is the gold of the Vikings or that of Capital City Tyrants – her travel team. She maintains a high degree of activity when she is on the court and will manage to get to the free throw line.

Moody brings a lot of activity and a live body to the floor for her team. Mariana runs the floor very well and fills the lane in transition. She can play out to the short corner and knockdown a jumper from time to time.
Mariana does a good job of getting to the foul line with her play on the floor. She is always in the middle of the action when it comes to rebounding the ball or simply grabbing a 50/50 ball off the deck.
