About Mariko

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am guard/forward. I can handle all positions. On defense I usually cover the post player because I am strong and have solid footwork. My preference is to be on the wing but I will do anything to help my team win. I am a Sophomore and have been starting on the Varsity at HiIl Murray all year.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a kind person. I hate to lose but understand it is part of the game. You can always learn about yourself when things get tough. I try to grow and learn something new every time I come off of the floor.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Most of the awards I have received are geared around athletics.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I received a Leadership Scholarship at HIll Murray. I enjoy being part of this group and learning leadership skills. It has brought a strength in me that I did not know I had.

What type of college are you looking for?

Ultimately I would like to go D1. However I understand that it is tough to do. I believe that I can play at a higher level. Hopefully I can for into some teams plan and program and be able to play at the highest level possible.

+7 – One of the state’s most-improved prospects, Mari was named Prep Girls Hoops AAU Breakout Player of the Year. We don’t need to say anything else, do we? Mari has a giant motor to go with superior athleticism, a combo that tends to deliver results. As Lang’s skillset has grown, so has her mental toughness, leadership skills and ability to take over a game. Mari entered the rankings in June at #43 and now moves up to #36.
