Trotman is a High IQ guard that has the ability to score when needed. Knows how to read the defense and has great court awareness. One of the players who doesn’t mind applying pressure the full length of the court and letting her defense fuel her offense. Finishes strong around the rim and has the ability to shoot the outside shot.

Trotman recently had an excellent showing with Team Elite Hubbard 3SSB at the Prep Girls Hoops event in Marietta. A continuation of her stellar play with state champions Marist this past scholastic season. Trotman’s minutes were limited due to the number of upperclassmen, however she was impressive the minutes I watched her play. She did a good job getting the plays in from the bench, relaying them to her teammates, and then executing them on the court. She was a facilitator primarily for Marist, but showed the ability to score the ball on all three levels multiple times over multiple games. She is a very cerebral player who never got sped up and kept her composure when she was called on in big moments in the state playoffs.

Team Elite Hubbard 15U 3SSB also had to wait until early in the evening for its first matchup of the 2026 Peach Games. It resulted in a hard-fought 50-46 defeat to Wood Elite 15U E40 but Trotman put together a winning performance. She will throw plenty of defenses for a loop with her ability to get creative with how she attacks the basket. Trotman has no issues handling the ball with her left hand and going to her left to find her way around either one defender or multiple defenders. She can make plays either in the interior or from behind the 3-point line. Trotman was part of this past season’s Marist team that won a 4A state championship. 

You can see the confidence growing in Trotman as she has gotten more experienced this season. Trotman looks and moves like a point guard. She is a very smart player with good vision and her teammates were the beneficiaries of several very nice passes from Marya. She is a physically strong kid who wasn’t afraid to get in the paint and mix it up for loose balls and rebounds. Marya does a good job keeping herself between the defender and the ball preventing easy steals, a skill that is often overlooked. She kept the communication with her coaches tight and did a good job executing the offense. Trotman also applied good on ball pressure on defense using her wingspan and keeping her hands active.
