This ranked point guard is another guard ready to take huge strides and make big noise during this post season! Matt Hayslip is a phenomenal at distributing the basketball and creating open looks for herself. I wouldn’t be shocked if their was a game during this post season where she exploded and went off for big numbers. She is more than capable!

Matti is known for setting the tempo on her high school team and that was no different this weekend. She loves to get the ball in the open court and create plays, or be the lead on a fast break. In the half court she was able to recognize who needed the ball in their hands at the right moment. Defensively she was able to create turnovers that led to those fast break points.

Matti is a player who really plays the game smart. She’s fundamentally sound with a skillset that shows that her game is improving. Not only can she knock down the perimeter shot, but she is a great 1-2 punch with Abbie Knapp Abbie Knapp Abbie Knapp 6'1" | C/PF Frankin Furnace Green | 2027 State OH , who also helps Hayslip’s game. She has matured on the court and according to her coach, she’s a walking bucket this summer!

I really like how Matti plays under control, particularly after rebounding or while handling the ball on transition. She sticks to the fundamentals- patient looking for her shot. Hayslip is a bucket from deep- pretty stroke, does a nice job getting open looks, and times her passes just right!
