Mia swished a smooth straightaway three to start the day in 3v3 and continued to stand out during games for Team Wings. Her quick feet bottled up ball-handlers on the perimeter. After poking the ball away for a steal, she raced up the court and finished the breakaway layup with her left. Mia snagged a defensive rebound, pushed the ball with her eyes up, threw a bounce pass ahead down low, finished her cut to the basket, caught the return pass, and made a smooth transfer in stride for the bucket. Mia used quick crossovers and slashed to the hoop with a burst. She drove hard through the lane, causing fouls, and made excellent entry passes into the post. Mia disrupted passing lanes and shot the ball confidently from beyond the arc, burying a triple up top. She’s a crafty two-way guard who can facilitate, penetrate, finish, make shots, and wreak havoc on defense.

I tuned into the Dearborn vs. Bedford Regional Final online and Mia was definitely a deciding factor in the game. She stepped into three-pointers from well beyond the arc and buried three of them. Mia demonstrated precise ball-handling control, applied pressure on defense, and had excellent touch on her entry passes into the low post. Her 13 points were crucial to securing the victory and advancing to the quarterfinal round. Mia is a freshman playmaker I’m very excited to see for the first time in person at the Headliners Invitational Showcase.

Hammoud is a well-rounded guard. The Pioneers will definitely benefit from her capability to see the floor and make great decisions in both transition and in the half court. She can score at all three levels with a confident shot from the three point line, a smooth pull up jumper, and crafty finishes at the rim. The energy she can bring won’t go unnoticed this season.
