DeMiya came to the PGH Expo and delivered a knockout performance, solidifying her spot in the rankings. She has a powerful, quick, compact, and athletic build that’s going to make life very difficult for guards trying to match up this winter. DeMiya slashes to the hoop and finishes with strength in traffic, impacts games with her defensive effort, rebounds, and facilitates the ball effectively with good court vision. She showed leadership qualities, communication, positive energy, and engagement in games and from the sideline that are a premium at the next level. DeMiya can knock down the open shot from three-point range, and her versatility will be an advantage for Avondale this season.

Demiya was one of the most noticeable newcomers in the gym at the PGH Michigan Expo. She contributed in every phase of the game for Team 10 and separated herself on the court as a result. She’s athletic and has a strong, compact build that enables her to finish through contact and match up well inside on the defensive end. Demiya drove hard down the baseline to score a layup and used great spin dribbles in traffic to score at the rim and cause fouls. She demonstrated the intangibles and character that you want to see in a next-level prospect. Demiya communicated with teammates in transition on the defensive end and was the most animated player on the bench during games that I watched throughout the day. She clapped, talked, encouraged, directed, and was fully engaged from the sideline. Demiya threw a long pass on a rope over the defense for a fast-break assist, created steals on defense with her quick feet/pressure, and showed her outside range by sinking a smooth corner three. Avondale has an exciting group of guards and will be a tough team to match up against.
