Team 2 managed to get plenty of superb guard play out of their backcourt anchors – including Coalson who stands at 5-foot-5. Another familiar name to us at Prep Girls Hoops, she was part of the JSI Elite team that won the 16U championship at the Triumph Region Finals. Limiting turnovers is an important part to her overall game and she understands the art of attacking the rim and drawing contact to send her and her team to the free throw line. Coalson also approaches every play with a team-first mindset in knowing when the right times are to score and pass.

Coalson is a name that rings a bell to us at Prep Girls Hoops. She played her grassroots ball this spring and summer with JSI Elite and made our 16U Second Team at the Triumph Region Finals as part of the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit. Coalson knows how to make plays in the transition game. The quickness she displays as a defender is an attribute to her game that can give opposing offenses problems. A long range jump shot is also part of her overall offensive arsenal. Coalson’s court vision enables her to find driving lanes to the basket and efficiently finish at the rim.

Micah A Coalson Micah A Coalson 5'5" | PG Ridge Academy | 2025 AL did a nice job jumping in front of passes and pushing it up the court scoring on solo fast breaks.  She is quick handling the ball, and you see the speed really come out on defense as she’s going after the pass.  She scored off the dribble from behind the arc, too, and she attacks the basket finding the gaps to finish at the rim.  She was definitely one of the top point guards at the entire event knowing how to control the tempo and change her pace to lose defenders.
