Mikayla made an early impact defensively, doing a strong job trying to contain Knox and forcing tough looks. Offensively, she added a baseline drive finish and showed her quickness in space. She’s a guard who competes on both ends and embraces defensive assignments. With pieces graduating, she looks poised to step into an even larger role next season

Her game often operates under the radar, but her impact is real.  She leads her team in assists, draws defensive attention with her ability to attack, and can guard opposing athletic guards effectively. Evans is the type of player who makes the right read, makes the extra pass, and still has the confidence to knock down shots when needed.

Mikayla Evans Mikayla Evans 5'9" | CG Windermere Prep | 2027 State FL is an all around talented and athletic player, and she always impresses.   She controls the pace on the floor and does a good job of distributing the rock to one of the most talented rosters in the State.  She has shooters on the perimeter and size and physicality on the blocks.   Evans is an exciting player who excels in the transition game, can shoot the three, and she can get to the rim.  She is unselfish, but she has all the tools to take over when she needs to. .   

Mikayla Evans Mikayla Evans 5'9" | CG Windermere Prep | 2027 State FL continues to show strong growth in her game and is becoming a reliable scoring threat. She is an excellent catch-and-shoot player, consistently knocking down shots from the perimeter. Mikayla also does a great job using shot fakes to get defenders off balance, allowing her to attack and find her mid-range rhythm. Since last year, her finishing has improved noticeably. Defensively, her athleticism stands out as she applies pressure and forces turnovers. Mikayla’s all-around development makes her a key contributor on both ends.

Mikayla was doing a little bit of everything for her team on Saturday. She was knocking down the 3 ball, and she is so quick to the rim that she couldn’t be stopped getting downhill and had some impressive finishes with her left. Her ability to create and see the floor make her a top guards in her class. Mikayla’s handles and passing were on full display with her making a pretty one-handed dump down pass that led to an easy bucket for her teammate.

Mikayla is a quick guard that uses that first step to get by her defender and get downhill. She’s a high motor kid that does a bit of everything from making the right pass to crashing the boards and just being active on both ends of the floor. Her outside shot continues to improve and she should see some good run on the GUAA circuit this summer with good length for her size.

Evans has a potent three-point shot, and she will shoot it at any time. Her ability to shoot the three in transition is a weapon. Generally, the defense isn’t always set in transition, and Evan’s ability to shoot off of the catch or dribble makes her extremely dangerous in the transition game. Evans has good speed and the ability to maneuver through the defense, get to the rim, and score.

Evans got to the rim on offense and was dynamic in the transition game. Evans has great speed and athleticism and thrives in the open court. Evans was also special on the offensive end, knocking down 4 threes. Defensively, she applied great pressure on the ball and did a good job of turning steals into scoring opportunities for her team.
