About Joba
Expert Analysis
Brandon Fisher | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Joba’s blend of strength and skill was on full display. She powered through contact for multiple and-ones, knocked down a 15–20 footer, stroked a three with confidence, and protected the rim with a big block that shifted momentum. Her energy and physicality were constant which was nice to see. With her size and expanding offensive package, she has the tools to become a very special player.

Joba Oyedeji was a dominant force. On one play, she hit a hesitation crossover from the wing, drove baseline, and finished with a strong jump stop into a post player—knocking them out of position without charging and converting the layup, showing there are levels to her game. Joba demonstrated she can play on the wing with her ball-handling and shooting, and when needed, she could also draw contact and finish the old-school three-point play. From the high post to the low post, she dominated with quick decision-making and elite footwork. Joba showcased herself as one of the top players in her class.

Joba is a unique talent with exceptional strength, body control, and a natural feel for the game. She can score at all three levels—whether it’s finishing through contact, pulling up from mid-range, or hitting the outside shot. She’s competed on elite platforms and always draws defensive attention the moment she steps on the floor. Joba doesn’t shy away from physical play; she embraces contact on drives and continues to expand her game. Her name will only grow louder in the coming years.

Joba was a force on Saturday in Wesley Chapel. She is strong, uses her body, and is not afraid of physicality in the paint. Her mobility as a forward make her a tough matchup and so versatile on the court. She moved well without the ball this weekend whether it was making a back cut for a bucket or cutting across someone’s face and established position.

Joba is another hooper that will be fighting for that number 1 overall spot in the 2028 class for years to come. Her presence and strength make her a top prospect that will be and already is highly recruitable with multiple D1 offers. She is incredibly versatile with her shooting ability and physicality in the paint which makes her so difficult to match up with. She’s a threat to get a double-double any night as she averaged 14.7 ppg and 7.4 rpg on a well-rounded team. Joba Oyedeji led her team in points and rebounds and probably hustle plays as well. The power forward caught my attention at the FABC showcase in June and she has continued her great play. Oyedeji plays with a motor that won’t quit. She can defend out in space on the perimeter and can mix it up on the inside. Offensively, she can shoot from the outside and can also muscle her way on the inside. The power forward can also run the floor and score in transition. The power forward will look to lead her team in the State’s final 4 and continue building a legacy that is just getting started.

(Cover photo) has been thrown into battle as a freshman with Windermere Prep taking on a challenging schedule this season. That hasn’t been a problem for her, as Joba has demonstrated her versatility on the court. Not only can she score effectively around the rim, but she can also knock down jumpers with confidence. As Joba gains more experience, her skills continue to refine. Her physicality, combined with her footwork and soft touch around the rim, makes her a tough matchup for any team. With her high ceiling for growth, Joba can definitely develop into one of the most dominant players in the state.
