Mikayla Paschal recently transferred to Lakewood from Largo, where she averaged a double-double and led the team in nearly every statistical category. This week, Paschal faced tougher competition than usual and still excelled, finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds against one of the top teams in the state, Somerset Prep—a loaded and talented squad.
Paschal plays with the speed and athleticism of a guard but brings the strength and physicality of a post player, making her a tough matchup for positions 1 through 5. She demonstrated her ability to get to the rim with a quick first step off the dribble, excelled in transition, and showcased her skill in stopping on a dime to execute a step-back jumper.
On the boards, Paschal continues to prove she is a rebounding machine on both ends of the floor, playing with the determination that every rebound belongs to her. Her style fits seamlessly with Lakewood’s fast and gritty system, solidifying their status as a top contender in the 3A state playoff race.

Mikayla Paschal is another power forward who is versatile enough to play on the inside and then give you a constant threat from behind the three-point line. Paschal is a 1,000-point scorer, and last season, she shot 40 percent from behind the arc. The impressive part of Paschal’s game is that she averaged 21.8 points per game without an unearthly amount of threes, yet she kept the defense honest with her high percentage from behind the arc. Paschal recently excelled at the PGH Expo and showcased her “stretch-four” skill set.

was probably the only 1,000-point player in the building. At the Expo, Paschal was on the attack as usual and scored the ball in a variety of ways. Playing 3 x 3, Paschal had to mix it up a little on the inside. She did well against some of the most talented 4s in the 2028, 2025, and 2026 classes. Her ability to play on the outside on offense gave her the advantage against players not accustomed to sliding their feet and moving laterally on the perimeter. It showed how versatile she was and it gave us the big picture and insight into how she achieved the 1000th point mark before the end of her Junior season. At the Expo, she shot some threes, scored in the midrange, attacked the basket, showcased her ball handling, and got a little physical on the inside. Just another day at the “office.”

came to the Expo, and as usual, she left a mark on the event. Paschal is relentless on the offensive end and makes the opponent play or get embarrassed. Paschal provided the Expo with some ideal matchups, and Paschal more than held her own. Paschal is comfortable playing with the ball in her hand and can get 4s and 5s who have to cover her on the perimeter. Paschal was matched up against some of the top 4s at the camp and showed that she can rebound and defend in the paint as well as on the perimeter. Paschal battled all weekend, and though she had some nice offensive moments at the expo, it was her ability to play a physical style and battle on the inside against some physical players that earned praise this weekend.

, one of the top forwards in the State will be in the building and she brings it in these type of events. Paschal is a lethal offensive weapon who can score from anywhere on the court. Paschal plays 4 at times and can stretch and stress a defense with her ability to shoot the three-ball. She can also get into the paint and unleash a series of midrange jumpers on the opponent. In transition, she runs the floor like a guard and consistently scores transition points. Paschal will be one of the most exciting players to watch at the Expo.

is one of the most athletic players you will ever see. On the floor, she’s usually the fastest, strongest, and toughest player out there. At Largo High School, Paschal does it all. Last season, she averaged 21.8 PPG, shooting 40% from the field, and grabbed 8.8 RPG while scoring 435 points, with a season-high of 36 points. She also reached the 1,000-point milestone in just her junior year. Paschal is on track to hit the 1,500-point mark this season, currently sitting at 1,056 points.
Paschal scores in a variety of ways, with her most efficient being off the dribble. She can bully her way to the rim, using her quick first step to create separation. No matter how hard she gets hit, she’s either converting the and-1 or heading to the free throw line. Paschal is also a threat with her catch-and-shoot mid-range jumper, and she has developed a side step and step-back off the dribble, catching defenders off guard with her quickness and strength. She can also knock down the three.
Paschal’s rebounding is just as impressive. She approaches every rebound like it’s hers, and last season she had 8 double-doubles by simply outworking everyone on the floor. If it’s an offensive rebound, she’s going right back up. If it’s a defensive rebound, she’s pushing it in transition and beating others down the floor.
If you’re looking for a physical, athletic player with skills,

Got off to a nice start vs FBC Reign attacking the rim, and going to the FT line. Finished a tough AND 1. She’s legit. Watched her twice now, and she’s been impressive both times. Great inside out game.

Took the tip, but played on the perimeter. Super long and athletic. Has a D1 frame. Great length on D, creating turnovers. Knows how to finish in traffic off one or two feet. Given the assignment of guarding

Has all the tools to be a D1 kid. Length and athleticism is off the charts good. She’s simply a next level athlete, but also clearly knows the game well.

was a force at Southern Jams. Well, she was a force at the Sunshine State Showdown, and she was a force during the high school season. Paschal was First Team Pinellas County, she reached 1000 points, and averaged 21.9 points and 8.7 rebounds. Back to the Grassroots tournaments where Paschal has had a 23 point performance and a few more games in the same neighborhood. She was a beast in the pick and roll game and with the guards on her team, this will likely be one of her bread and butter plays all summer long. Paschal also showed her stretch 4 ability, pulling up from the three point line like a shooting guard. But scoring points is just one aspect of her game. She rebounded well on both ends of the floor and was a standout in the transition game. Paschal showcased her good handles and her ability to pass the ball to open teammates. Versatile or “wow” is the best way to describe Paschal’s play over the past two weekends. She is one of the top power forwards in her class and in the State, and the scary part is that she is still getting better.
