About Millicent

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Millie is a 5'11 small forward with the size and strength to guard multiple positions, physical enough for bigger forwards and mobile enough to stay in front of wings. She's a real threat from mid-range and beyond the arc, which keeps defenses from sagging off her into the paint. She also uses her frame well on the block and the glass, finishing through contact and boxing out bigger post players.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Millie is Editor-in-Chief of Pegasus, Mercer Island High School's creative arts magazine. She served as an editor on the 2024-25 edition, which received a Gold Medal rating from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA's highest honor, awarded out of Columbia University). She was named Editor-in-Chief for the 2026 edition, taking on responsibility for the magazine's editorial direction.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Outside of basketball, I volunteer with Eastside Seniors, helping elderly residents with everyday tasks. I also organize a bimonthly food drive in my neighborhood, coordinating donations and drop-offs with neighbors block by block. Both have pushed me outside my comfort zone and taught me a lot just from listening to people with very different experiences than mine.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I tore my ACL in the middle of my Select 40 summer season in 2025, right when I was playing my best basketball. Missing the rest of that season and Varsity season was a real setback I committed to a full year of rehab, showing up every day for training and skills work even when progress felt slow. I think I have come back stronger and more disciplined than before.
