Phoenix had the tune “By The Time I Get To Phoenix” in my head last season after finally catching back up with her after seeing her initially in middle school, creating havoc, well, she continues to show that and more, see evaluations here . She is one of the top defensive guards in Texas, across all classes, and her falling into that #sizedontmatter group is irrelevant because, baseline to baseline, she helps create turnovers. She plays the passing lane, picks pockets, yet on the flip, she scores off the dribble and rebounds against taller players

Phoenix was among many #sizedontmatter guards who just brought heat on both ends of the court. Yes, she can man-up baseline to baseline, but she also has quick hands to pick pockets. She did a good job of doing what I love to see, playing the passing lane, and she attacked and scored off the dribble as well as saw the floor across the board

Phoenix is an explosive scorer who also falls into that #sizedontmatter group. Her first step creates problems for defenders as she can attack whenever she wants, yet her pull-up jumper, stop and pop, as well as “catch and shoot” all looked good, so did her “on the ball” pressure

Phoenix grabbed my attention when she lived in Houston yet I lost track of her but reconnecting at last season’s #Super64 showed me her growth on the court see evaluation here I had an updated look with her high school team and watched the havoc she created defensively was huge but she also did a good job attacking and finishing strongly after contact

A outstanding ball handler that will shuffle side to side then hit you with a crossover getting to the rim. Knocked down several from the 3 area in the game I watched. A very smooth player that never looked rattled by the pressure being applied. A lockdown defender that lateral while standing low in her stance. Great finisher at the rim using her body to shield off the taller defender. A second team All District for North Crowley. Second event I covered with her playing in and second time I have noticed her paly. Therefore she made my Player to Watch List
