About Morgan

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play with calm consistency and a strong basketball IQ. I bring steady energy, vocal leadership, and make smart plays that keep my team grounded under pressure.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m resilient, disciplined, and service-minded. I stay steady in adversity, lead with encouragement, and stay focused on uplifting my teammates while pursuing my goals.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m a member of Beta Club, National Honor Society, and Junior Civitan. I’m Senior Class treasurer. I’ve earned multiple Academic Excellence Awards and founded Mind Over Muscle, a project on student-athlete mental health.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve grown as a leader through roles like Varsity Basketball Captain and Student Council Treasurer. Teamwork and service define me, with community work through Lamp’s Love Project, Tommy Lee Davis Foundation, and youth mentoring.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’ve faced challenges that tested my confidence, including time away from the game due to injury and illness. Each setback taught me resilience, leadership, and perseverance, and I returned stronger both mentally and physically. These experiences pushed me to become a more vocal leader, a steady presence on the court, and a player who refuses to quit.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that combines academic rigor in biomedical engineering with the opportunity to continue growing as a student-athlete. I value a supportive community where faith, service, and discipline are encouraged, and where I can contribute both on the court and in leadership roles on campus.

Young is one of the higher profile names on this list given she wears the colors of one of the state’s premier 4A teams in South Pointe. After missing her sophomore season due to an injury, Young bounced back to be a key x-factor in the Stallions’ impressive run in 2024-25 to the 4A Upper State championship game. Young’s primary spot is at the two and her grassroots career has included a stint with Queen City Ballers. She is listed at 5-foot-6. Young competed in 25 games last season with South Pointe and she is poised to conclude her high school career with an emphatic exclamation point with a team that will once again be a 4A state favorite.
