Expert Analysis

Burge is a big time athlete and she briefly took over the game in the second quarter. Locking up and forcing steals on defense, crashing the glass on offense and hitting a mid-range pull up. She’s a difference maker, with an outstanding motor. Capable of covering 1-4 at the next level. Seems to be working on her shot, as she also drained a three during a Douglass second half run.

Burge closed out the tournament with a dominant two way performance in the second half of her final game. Also posted a 20 point performance in an earlier Saturday win. She has the capabilities to be super disruptive on defense, especially with a mindset to quickly turn defense into offense. Capable of pushing it herself, while also running the floor hard when off the ball. As one of the better athletes in Oklahoma’s upcoming class of seniors, she’s continuing to make the transition to a more perimeter based game. Fitting of her height and athletic combination. Her versatility on defense will be crucial for that adjustment. She’s also capable with slashing and interior scoring, while improving perimeter shooting is the next big step in her development.

Burge will often be the best athlete on the floor and she uses that aspect to her advantage on both ends of the court. Was promising to see more of her perimeter game, especially with a good first step as an attacker off face up situations. Didn’t see her shoot jumpers as much in the game watched, but did bank in a 18 footer. That’s an area to track her development in. Overall, she’s expected to be one of the most impactful players on both sides of the ball for a Douglass team that will be a 4A State Title contender.

A game changer on the defensive end with her combination of size and quickness. She plays bigger than her size thanks to her athletic ability and timing as a defender and rebound. Was a core part of a Doulgass team that made waves this past winter and is now gaining big time college momentum with a recent offer from Oklahoma State. With promising offensive skills to go with defensive versatility, she’s quickly becoming one of the highest upside prospects in Oklahoma.

A high level athlete that controlled the paint of the defensive end of the floor. Listed at 5’11 but plays a lot taller inside. Great footwork and moves around the paint and athletic enough to play on the outside. Receiving multiple D1 offers

N’Kiyah is listed as a forward but she really is a position less player meaning she just plays ball. Strong physical body that can play inside or outside. On defense she played according to match ups. One trip she was playing against the post next trip down she was lock down in a stance waiting for the ball handler at half court. Great patience in the pick and roll game waiting for it to develop. Ranked among the tops in her class with Power 5 offers

Game Watched: vs Inola, March 7th
Burge relished her role as a defensive destroyer in Douglass’ dominant State Tournament win. It wasn’t just blocking shots and cleaning the glass (she looks great high pointing rebounds), she has outstanding lateral quickness. With the ground she covered on the perimeter and her height advantage, she likely gave the Inola players nightmares. There was also a lot of promise with the way she pushed the ball off defensive rebounds or forced turnovers. The sophomore played with her head up, making the simple but important passes ahead to teammates. While another time she stopped and drilled a 10 footer. She’s one of the more impressive players I’ve watched this year thanks to her defensive ability and offensive feel.
