Woods played up in the 17U division with LegGYnds and had a strong showing. Always a bucket, she found her spots in the mid-range. While also being quick and crafty enough to score amongst the trees at the rim. Uncharacteristically she shot it poorly from three by her high standards, so that’s an area to monitor going forward at the national level.
On the defensive end, she brought a battler mentality. Where her quickness and hops helped her compete against older and stronger players. Seeing more of the “dawg” aspect to Woods’ game is a very good long term sign for one of Oklahoma’s top overall prospects.

The sophomore class in Oklahoma is special, and Woods might be the most special scorer of the bunch. Gave LCS fits in the first half with two of the nastiest pull up three pointers seen this year. Finished 25 points because she’s not a shooter, she’s a SHOT MAKER off the dribble. Woods made a leap as a complete scorer as a sophomore and it’s exciting to see her game continue to evolve as one of Oklahoma’s best players.

It was a tale of two halves for Woods. In the first half, the opposition did a good job of containing her and making her settle for tough jumpers. Was quiet by her high standards. The fourth quarter was all Woods tho. She had a six point spurt in about 90 seconds. Where she finally got a couple of middies to fall, then got her own miss. Kept pouring it on, leading to a 9 point win and a team high 22 points. Always fun to see an elite player battle through early adversity and finish like a star.

Electric is the best way to describe Woods’ game. She’s an amazing combination of silky and explosive as an scorer. One possession she’ll stop on a dime and drain a tough pull up. The next possession will see her explode to the rim, hang in the air and deliver a crazy acrobatic finish. Not to mention arguably the best handles in the class. She’s a box office player, who can score in bunches. Impressively this year she’s improved her passing and combo guard abilities. While also flying around and making more plays on the defensive end. The Torjettes were runner ups in Class 4A last year, and are expected to contend again for the title.

Another day at the office for the super sophomore. Closed out the first quarter with five quick points. The 10 foot baseline jumper was run of the mill for the skilled scorer. But shortly after she forced a steal, raced the other way and drained a three as the horn sounded. Flat out one of the best shooters and scorers in the state. Is starting to play quicker and tougher on defense as well. Tends to make one “wow” athletic steal or block a game. 2028 is loaded in Oklahoma and Woods is one of the standard bearers.

Woods had a takeover moment in the third quarter. She started cooking with off the dribble threes. Then made a great transition feed to a teammate. Last year, she played with outstanding senior guards, which gave her more freedom to simply get buckets. This opener was an indication that while she’s still a bucket getter, she’s embracing the distribution aspects of being a lead guard. Impressive signs in the development of one of Oklahoma’s elite prospects.

If there was an one on one contest in Oklahoma, Woods might be the toughest cover in the state. She has elite handles, with the ball on a string. Combined with the way she seems to float on the court, she can get wherever she want in the mid-range. Especially as the defense has to respect her ability to shoot from beyond the arc. Woods provided a key scoring punch as a freshman for 4A runner ups. Now with a year of varsity play and more collegiate offers under her belt. expect Woods to take off as one of the top scorers in Oklahoma. As she more than capable of putting on a scoring show at all three levels.

In some ways, Woods might be more dangerous in the mid-range with her silky shot. But she’s also a sniper from deep, which opens up the rest of her game. It’s also impressive, because she’s good as an off the dribble shooter. Meaning she’s taking and hitting tougher looks than some of the other top shooters in Oklahoma. Extremely bright future for a very skilled young lady.

One of Oklahoma’s elite prospects, Woods closed out her summer strong with out of state Team Lex’s 16U Girls UAA team. As evident in the highlights, she has an outstanding blend of quickness and handles. Can explode by defenders, or smoothly stop and hit in the mid-range. Complete with a silky touch as a shooter. After helping Douglass to the 4A State Title game as a freshman, Woods will be ready for more as a sophomore. And looks ready to be one of the best all around scorers in Oklahoma.

Super skilled scoring guard, with quickness and unmatched handles. Money in the mid-range and from beyond the arc. Along with the ability to break the defense down to get into the lane for floaters and other finishes. Helped lead Douglass to a runner up finished in a loaded Class 4A. Entered high school already with offers from Oklahoma State, Mount Saint Mary’s and Arkansas State. Simply an electric scorer. The sky’s the limit.
