About Novea
Expert Analysis
Darvoni Christopher | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Brandon has emerged as one of the more intriguing guards in the Northwest Indiana region. The Chesterton standout combines athleticism, toughness, and scoring ability into a package that continues to improve each season.
Her ability to score in transition immediately stands out. Brandon runs the floor exceptionally well and creates easy offense by consistently beating opponents down the court. When she attacks in the half court, she demonstrates strong body control and an ability to finish through contact. The shooting guard’s confidence continues to grow as a perimeter threat. She has become more comfortable extending her range and making defenses respect her from beyond the arc.
What college coaches will appreciate most is her competitiveness. Brandon plays with a relentless motor and consistently brings intensity on both ends of the floor. She rebounds well for her position and isn’t afraid to do the little things that contribute to winning. As her offensive consistency continues to develop, Brandon has the tools to become one of the bigger risers in her region.

Novea has stood out this Spring, because each time I have seen City Elite , whether she’s at her best or not, she is consistently active and attempting to make plays at both ends of the floor. She has such tremendous length that she gets her hands on a lot of passes defensively. Offensively, she has proven she can make open rhythm jumpers, she’s fast attacking the basket, and she can find open teammates as well. She should have several small colleges following her throughout the Spring and Summer.

A really scrappy player, can battle through contact and not afraid of mixing it up. Puts the ball on the ground goes north south well and can get to the free-throw line. Great length, can defend the passing lanes. Liked her more and more as I watched her play.

From her Freshman year until now, Novea has continued on an upward trajectory. She has great length, good height to play either guard spot, but she’s also fluid, fast, and she changes directions rather quickly. I feel like she’s still stuck a little between being a point guard or a scorer, but she has good traits to be able to do either at the next level. She locates outlet spots, gets the ball, and pushes with aggression. She slices to the rim with some ease, but she has also improved her perimeter shooting and made that more consistent. I’ve also always liked how she uses her length defensively.

Novea is an extremely long, fluid, and somewhat smooth athlete. Her length makes her look a lot taller, but she plays a lot taller as well. A couple of years ago, I felt like she was more of a point guard who could shoot/score it, but after watching her again this June/July, I feel like she might be better working as a ‘2’ who can also slide over and play some point when necessary. She has gotten better off the bounce and shot it better from the perimeter than she had during the school season. I also love her length defensively.

Novea is an extremely long, fluid, and smooth athlete. She has become quite versatile, and she can play on or off the ball offensively equally well. With the ball, she has some shiftiness to her, and she gets defenders off-balance. Off the ball, she has turned into a more consistent perimeter shooter, when she’s able to run off screens and find open space. Defensively, she does a nice job of using her length, especially in the open floor and trapping situations.
