Nyla separated herself as a defender, rebounder, and great team player at the PGH Michigan Freshman Showcase. She communicated actively on the court with teammates and showed great sportsmanship by helping up an opponent. Nyla never stops working, and that’s what makes her such an impactful player in the frontcourt. She calls out switches, has the lateral foot speed to defend on the perimeter, and keeps herself in prime position to swat shots without fouling. Nyla moved her feet and timed up multiple shots, adding a ferocious block that echoed across the gym. She secured many rebounds and set strong screens to free up guards. Nyla is very effective in the pick-and-roll. Greenhills is getting an immediate impact forward, and she’s going to make the program better on day one. Strong performance from the strong forward during 3v3 and games for Team 6.

When I saw Nyla play little over a year ago at an AAU practice, I was floored to learn that she wasn’t in high school. Already long, athletic, and holding her own in the post, she fit right in against the older group. Nyla’s relentless hustle, energy, persistent rebounding, and toughness as a finisher in traffic have always stood out. She’s an effective rim protector, and I could see her making a major impact on the defensive end. Nyla will be a forward to watch at the PGH Michigan Freshman Showcase.

Nyla is a forward I’d love the opportunity to watch at the Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Freshman Showcase. I haven’t had the chance to evaluate her myself yet, but Evan saw her at Team Synergy practice and came away impressed with the way she competed and impacted the game. Nyla brings a strong presence on both ends of the floor, using her size and physicality to rebound, defend, and create scoring opportunities around the basket. She showed the ability to communicate, compete through drills, and make winning plays during game action. The Freshman Showcase would be a great chance to get an in-person evaluation of Nyla and see how her skill set translates against another talented group of forwards in the 2030 class.

Hill is a beast in the paint!  Great delivery, hungry for rebounds, and I love her intensity on both ends of the basket! And when she’s heading to the basket, she’s like a semi truck going 70mph on a highway! Tough baller!
