Forwards I’d Love to See at the Freshman Showcase

The Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Freshman Showcase returns to MSA Fieldhouse on Saturday, August 22, giving members of the Class of 2030 an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of the Prep Girls Hoops staff. Below are some of the forwards I'd love to see compete at this year's Freshman Showcase.    Macey is a forward I'd love to see at the Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Freshman Showcase. She stood out at the Headliners Invitational last fall, earning Top Performer recognition and All-Showcase Third Team honors after making a strong impact on both ends of the floor. Macey brings a physical presence in the paint, competes hard on the glass, and has the ability to create extra possessions for her team. She also shows great awareness as a rebounder, quickly turning defensive stops into transition opportunities with her passing ability. The Freshman Showcase would be another great opportunity to evaluate Macey against a talented group of players and see her continue to showcase the skills that make her an intriguing prospect in the 2030 class.     Reagan is a forward I'd love to see at the Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Freshman Showcase. While I haven't had the chance to evaluate her myself yet, Evan saw her at the CMU Elite Camp and came away impressed with the way she impacted the game on both ends of the floor. Reagan brings a unique combination of length, athleticism, and versatility that allows her to make plays defensively while also contributing offensively in a variety of ways. She has the ability to protect the rim, create extra possessions on the glass, and use her skill set to score as a face-up threat or around the basket. Her mobility and basketball instincts make her an intriguing prospect in the 2030 class, and the Freshman Showcase would be a great opportunity to see how she matches up against a talented group of forwards.     Emma is a forward I'd love to see again at the Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Freshman Showcase. I had the opportunity to watch her at the Headliners Invitational last fall, where she impressed with her physical style of play and ability to impact the game around the basket. Emma uses her strength well to establish position, finish through contact, and create scoring opportunities in the paint, while also showing the ability to step outside and knock down shots from the perimeter. Her combination of interior toughness, footwork, and versatility makes her an intriguing prospect in the 2030 class. The Freshman Showcase would be a great opportunity to see Emma continue to develop and compete against another talented group of freshmen.     Nyla is a forward I'd love the opportunity to watch at the Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Freshman Showcase. I haven't had the chance to evaluate her myself yet, but Evan saw her at [program_tooltip program_id='944011' first='Team' last='Synergy'] practice and came away impressed with the way she competed and impacted the game. Nyla brings a strong presence on both ends of the floor, using her size and physicality to rebound, defend, and create scoring opportunities around the basket. She showed the ability to communicate, compete through drills, and make winning plays during game action. The Freshman Showcase would be a great chance to get an in-person evaluation of Nyla and see how her skill set translates against another talented group of forwards in the 2030 class.     Ruby is a forward I'd love to see at the Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Freshman Showcase. She was a Top Performer at the PGH Michigan State Tournament, where she showed the ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor. Evan saw her compete and was impressed with her ability to stretch the floor as a shooter while also bringing energy and effort defensively. Ruby has the versatility to knock down shots from the perimeter, attack the basket, and make plays that don't always show up in the box score. Her combination of skill, toughness, and competitiveness makes her an intriguing prospect in the 2030 class, and the Freshman Showcase would be a great opportunity to see her compete against another talented group of players.
